^^ Depending on the 2 Top 100 prospects they are, I might prefer to hold onto them vs dealing them for Headley. Although this is all hypothetical.

Say the 2 prospects came from Texas and were Mike Olt and Cody Buckel. I am well aware that is huge haul for players like Floyd and Rios. Hypothetically would flipping those 2 and Beckham be enough for Headley?

Can someone explain to me why we would want Kubel? I really cannot stand that guy.

While Kubel's defense is not something to get excited over, his career .801 OPS is.

We could have just kept AJ. I think they really did not want to keep him. Well I hope Flowers can step up and do a good job.

There is no way I would've been ok with keeping AJ for $7.5 mil.

Its time to let Flowers play. The White Sox have to see what they have in this kid.

Flowers is going to give the Sox, more power & OBP. While playing catcher a hell of a lot better than AJ and cost 1/10th of what AJ would cost.

I was ok with AJ leaving, if Flowers falls on his face I wouldn't be shocked to see him come back in '14

I agree that it's time to finally let Flowers show us what he can do, which is add some power, but OBP is all speculation. So far he hasn't even gotten close to his numbers in charlotte. I'm sure AJ will be close to his career avg of .324ish, but it's not like Flowers has shown us to be some OBP machine so far at the ML level. The homer in me aside, I still think AJ will be better than Flowers offensively next year.

He never got regular playing time in the majors. You give Flowers enough AB's and he will show that he can get on base.

    Minor League OBP
    2006 - .373 (129 AB's)
    2007 - .378 (389 AB's)
    2008 - .427 (413 AB's)
    2009 - .423 (353 AB's)
    2010 - .334 (346 AB's)
    2011 - .390 (222 AB's)

If given the AB's he has shown that he can get on base at a high rate.

You think Flowers is going to hit more than 27 HRs? Or more power than AJ would have given this year (15?)?.

AJ will NOT hit more HR's in 2013 then he did in 2012.

To answer your question, based on track record yes, Flowers will out homer AJ in 2013. In the minors Flowers hit a HR every 20 AB's. Last year Flowers hit 5 HR's in 110 AB's thats a HR every 22 AB's. So if Flowers gets 500 AB's in 2013, he will hit at least 20 HR's if not more.

    First question: likely
    Second question: definitely
