Isn't TX planning on shifting Kinsler to the OF with moving either Profar or Andrus to second base? That would leave them with a need at 3rd base. I doubt they move Olt in a deal with us

Part of me forgot about beltre, I was thinking Olt was taking over for M. Young @ 3rd, and forgot he was just a supersub/DH last year, which I am sure Olt will be able to handle this year.

But they are still planning on moving Kinsler to the OF, so there is no need for an OF in Viciedo. I'm sure they would rather hold onto a player that can handle corner infield spots over a DH type player in Viciedo.

Im not ready to give up on 2013 so no trading Peavy! I would do Rios and Floyd though, and Im stuck on wanting Olt from them.

Phillies, Mike Adams close on two-year deal with vesting option. Club expects deal to happen. Could be as soon as tomorrow.

He got 2 years $12M with a vesting option. Glad the Sox started away from that.

I know it seems a few teams are loaded.....and KC & Cleveland are getting better.....and the Tigers will be good. It seems the Twinkee's & us are falling back...........but......it is a long way to opening day. There are a lot of solid good young players out there and the big names don't guarantee a championship.

I completely agree and theres alot of offseason left. However, as moves are made, options shrink, and IMO the Sox need at least another good hitter that gets on base and a veteran relief pitcher.

Im telling you Texas will want to make a splash somehow via trade. Just hope were the trade partner! Maybe Thornton and Floyd could be sent to them? I know a lot of guys around here arent high on Olt. Maybe we get Leonys Martin instead, he is Cuban after all!

Im not really big on Martin, but i would actually like to get Olt. Of course then the sox would probably trade GB since im sure they promised Keppinger more playing time. I still feel that trading DV and signing Swisher is the way to go.

I hope they are talking to Jair Jurrjens and/or Mike Pelfrey. I really don't think that they will get as much as I was even thinking. John Lannan who is in the same situation just got a 1 year $2.5M deal with a chance at another $2.5M in incentives. Coop does a great job finding a flaw in pitchers that are just discarded and helps turn them around. Both of those guys could really help especially if Hahn is trying to trade Floyd.

The Sox are kind of in like Indiana Pacers territory: relevant enough to matter, but they really don't. This territory ****ing sucks.
