You want to move Rios to CF, a position he is uncomfortable with, dislikes playing, and is terrible at, which seems to negatively impact his batting as well? (posted a UZR/150 of -7.4 in 2011 for the White Sox, terrible at the plate that year). If Rios is on the White Sox opening day roster, he will be the starting RF.
Viciedo (who is Viciendo?) at 3B? You can get away with a butcher at 3B if he is winning the triple crown. Dayan Viciedo will not be winning a triple crown at any point in his life.
Ichiro? an every day outfielder? If this were 2008, this would be a great idea! Unfortunately, its 2012. He will be 40 when the season begins, he has been on a steady decline, and in all likelihood will never get 200 hits again. His OBP drastically in the last 4 years (.386, .359, .310, .307) What exactly does he bring to the team? At this point in his career, he is a 4th outfielder at best.
At least 2 more years for AJ, seriously? Love what he has done for the White Sox in the past, will forever be a part of that magical season in 05, but all emotional attachments aside, from a baseball point of view, its time to move on. You don't pay for past performance with FA, you pay for future performance, and 35 year old catchers who have put up career bests don't sustain their production. Age, and the number of innings he has caught, will catch up to him sooner rather than later, and when they do, the Sox can't be on the hook for more money to him. If AJ decided he really wanted to come back, and was willing to do a 1 year deal in the 4-7 million dollar range, sure, would be worth it. But at least two years? Would be a terrible move from a baseball standpoint.
