Do you think the Sox should resign him?
I would not mind considering he is one of my favorite players. He is still better than Flowers any day of the week......................
I think people should stop using the wording of if he's "ready" or not when it comes to Tyler Flowers. The dude was taken in the 05 draft, if he's not ready now he never will be. I personally think he'll never be a good enough hitter to be anything other then a backup.
Tyler Flowers is basically Chris Iannetta, and I am fine with that considering we are going to be really bad. For the same notion I was optimistic somewhat this season, I am pessimistic for next year. We had so many breaks and it still wasn't enough to win, plus Detroit is going to get a lot better. This was our only chance for awhile, which is why it's so maddening they blew it.
God I hate Flowers
I don't think this was our only chance............damn......you still play the games and Detroit has problems too.

I'm just wanting to see what Hahn wants to do with this team.
I think that KW still has the final say of anyone besides Jerry
Option Taken? Floyd at $9.5 million ischeap for an innings eatin' No. 3 or 4 starter.
No other, and no other resigned
Traded? Hate mail, but Alexei is at the top of his value. With his deflated physique, he's never going to be Ernie Banks, and would fetch a ton. Insist that whoever takes Alexei takes Dunn, who is VERY unlikely to match this year. Beckham is a smooth defensive player, and could play a good short albeit with less range.
Rios is at the top of his game, and thus has to go as well. I'd package him with pitcher Danks for prospects, and make the Angels pay everything.
Thornton has to go, because he seems like a great pitcher, but isn't.

Stretch out someone else?
Could Nate Jones be stretched out? He gives up a lot of baserunners, but few HRs.
Bull
Standing around: Humber, Axelrod, Leesman
Since we have Crain and Veal, make Reed actually earn the closer's spot in spring training.
Catchers?
I'd like to re-sign Pierzynski, but you can't re-sign someone who had his greatest season at age 35.
Is Josh Phegley ready?
Flowers can catch against opposing lefties, but that's all I'd let him do.
As he has done throughout his career, pitchers under Jeff Mathis had an ERA under that of any other catchers on the team, this year 4.39 vs. 4.85 for the other team catchers. He hits no worse than Flowers against righties, but that's not saying much.
Deficiencies? Lots.
