Yea Mother will finally be revealed this season, this season is really setting it up. Seeing her at the train station in the first episode, Barney's wedding and now seeing Ted see her for the first time.

I read a while back that they aren't showing the mother until next season.

If its not until next season it'll be the first episode. But I believe when that rumor was made, it was still unknown if there would be a 9th season. I think because these episodes now were filmed thinking this would be it, story lines will progress fast until about the march episodes

The cliff hanger for the end of this season is either them showing their mothers face for the first time and then nothing else. Or I could see Ted going over to talk to her for the first time and it ends then finishing up the beginning of next season with seeing who the mother is

I think it's going to end with them showing the yellow umbrella again. IIRC it was raining on the wedding day

If I had to guess we're going to see the mother in the very beginning of season 9 and the entire season will be about them dating and eventually getting married.

I think with two married couples though season 9 could be pretty awful

"Ring Up": Barney asks Ted to keep dating Carly (Ashley Benson), a much younger woman, even though she and Ted have nothing in common.

So there goes the theory that Ted ends up with Barney's sister (Carly).

Figured it wouldn't be Barney's half sister especially after last week's reveal that the mother plays bass in the wedding band and the long shot that she was that girl's roommate, but nice to still get that theory out of the way.

Kind of gross that Ted is telling his kids, who should be nearing 20 by now, about how he conquered these almost legal to drink gals. His daughter must be so thrilled.

Decent episode overall.

Thought Monday's episode was hilarious. Especially Lilly and Marshalls weird fetish with drug addicts and soccer moms
