Superhero Re-draft DC Conference Semifinals- Team NAPPA vs. KJ and Lucky

On an imaginary world called Fightworld where no one has any advantages, 2 teams battle it out for supremacy. Who wins?

    TEAM NAPPA

    1. Non-powered human
    2. Mutant- defined as someone genetically born with an abnormality
    3. Alien or God (or both) or Robot/Android
    4. Powered human
    5. Coach/leader
    6. Heroine
    7. flex (anything goes)
    8. flex
    9. flex
    10. flex

    ---

    1. Bane
Even without his Venom, he’s still labeled as a human at his highest peak for physical and mental perfection in all respects. Not only that but Bane is one of the smartest humans on the planet capable of deducing Batman's identity with little support or investigation.
    2. Vulcan
Vulcan is an Omega level mutant who can manipulate all forms of energy. Professor X called him the most powerful energy manipulator he has ever come across. His Psionic abilities are also incredibly powerful allowing him to control the psionic powers of others including Cyclops's energy beams, and Adam Warlock's spells.
    3. Doomsday
Doomsday is one of he most powerful beings in the universe and most well known for KILLING SUPERMAN. He's able to adapt against anything that can hurt him, and even if he does manage to die, he is ressurected without that weakness. He's immune to telepathic attacks and has bone projectiles that he can shoot at his enemies.
    4. The Hulk
Hulk Smash! The Hulk is the strongest being in the game, the angrier he gets the stronger he gets. Not to mention his healing abilities are some of the strongest as well. He's super fast, and can jump so high he can achieve stable orbit.
    5. The Mandarin
The Mandarin is one of the most cunning, and manipulative leaders in all of comics. It was he who originally engineered Tony Stark's kidnapping and pulled many of the strings of worldwide activities. He is an extremely powerful martial artist, strong enough to break the Iron Man suit. He is powered by 10 extremely powerful rings that give him an absurd amount of powers LIST

    Attractive Male
    Blast Power
    Darkness Manipulation
    Electricity Control
    Energy Based Constructs
    Energy-Enhanced Strike
    Feral
    Fire Control
    Flight
    Force Field
    Genetic Manipulation
    Healing
    Heat Generation
    Holographic Projection
    Ice Control
    Illusion Casting
    Insanely Rich
    Intellect
    Invisibility
    Invulnerability
    Leadership
    Levitation
    Light Projection
    Longevity
    Magnetism
    Matter Absorption
    Phasing / Ghost
    Power Item
    Psionic
    Psychic
    Radiation
    Stamina
    Super Hearing
    Super Sight
    Super Strength
    Telekinesis
    Teleport
    Unarmed Combat
    Vibration Wave
    Wind Bursts

Now the best part about the Mandarin is that has the capabilities to control the Hulk, however he has been thwarted by the worlds heroes. Now that he has preparation time, he will be able to control the Hulk with ease, and will use his control powers on Doomsday as well. Thus corralling two of the most powerful beings in the game into controllable and easily usable weapons.
    6. Emma Frost
The former White Queen of the Hellfire Club. Emma Frost is an extrmely powerful Omega level mutant. She she has the ability to turn herself compeltely into diamond. The speed it takes for her to transform in and out of her diamond form is almost instantaneous, being described as happening within a hundredth of a second. While she is not in diamond form, she is a powerful telepath. She can use mind control, shoot 'psi-beams', induce paralysis and can even kill solely via her mind. She is extremely powerful and can take on just about anyone.
    7. Circe
Circe is an amazingly powerful soceress with the abilities to bend reality itself. She can alter memories, and bend objectes into whatever she wants. She can teleport and has the ability to launch destrutive magical blasts at people, and can put up magical shields.
    8. Carnage
Carnage is symbiote who is intensely powerful. He's extremely strong and fast and has the abilities to shoot projectiles from his hands. His symbiote is special as well, being stronger than Venom's. It also has the abilities to infect others and control them as it has done to Wolverine, Captain America, the Thing, and Hawkeye.
    9. Desparo
Desparo is a powerful telepath, who as at times enslaved the Justice League with his mental abilities. He's also super strong as well, and can take serious physical punishment. His mental abilites are strong enough to control the Martian Manhunter, known as one of the strongest telepaths. He also has strong reality warping powers, and can warp energy and matter. He can also possess others and will retain his powers.
    10. Parasite
Parasite is a former Janitor exposed to radiation who developed powers that allow him absorb energy from others. He can also absorb the life forces of others and can absorb the DNA of others giving him the powers of metahumans. He's also quite strong.
    11. Clayface
Possesses the ability to shapeshift and change the form of their bodies. This gives them the power to look like any person they chose as well create weapons out of their limbs to attack enemy and also melt. More recent powers added to Clayface's mantle is the ability to melt objects by just looking at them and also being able to pass on powers to ordinary humans. Because of Clayface's body nearly all physical attacks are useless. Clayface can also use his body to smother victims until lifeless.

Let's start off with Pandemic. Somewhere above you will read all of the abilities he has, including Pyrokinesis. This one, of many abilities Pandemic has is going to be extremely tough on Carnage. As we all know, fire is a big threat to whatever host the symbiote is attached too. I see Pandemic having no problem getting close to Carnage, or anyone on Superdude's team for that matter with the ability of teleportation, Omnimorphing and Illusion Casting.

Green Goblin will be used in the air. Although he's one of our weaker characters, he can't be ignored. I see Superdude have a very hard time with GB in the air causing problems and just being a pest.

Everyone knows that the Hulk and Doomsday are going to be a handful, that's an understatement. Two beasts of just strength and destruction. But they're going to have problem as we can match them with Apocalypse, Tyrant and Ultron.

Tyrant, alone, proved capable of easily defeating an alliance of super-powered beings which included Silver Surfer, Morg, Terrax, Thanos, Gladiator, Ganymede, and Jack of Hearts. All of these people are not pushovers. They are some of the most powerful beings in the game. I see no issue with him fighting, and quite honestly beating the Hulk rather easily. I realize how powerful the Hulk is, and that may be seen as a stretch, but it's true.

Apocalypse will be assisting Tyrant in trying to kill the Hulk and Doomsday. Apocalypse is one of the most intelligent people in the game, also being a master strategist. This will be a huge advantage in killing the Hulk, and Doomsday. Known at times not to be that smart. Apocalypse has the physicality to match up with both, and the intelligence to put him over the top. Apocalypse also has the ability to absorb energy, including absorbing the gamma radiation the Hulk has. The Silver Surfer and Red Hulk have shown to be able to do this, turning him back into Bruce Banner, leaving him near useless turning back to human form mid fight. The Hulk, arguably his strongest character has a terrible matchup for this fight.

This isn't even mentioning Ultron, who will do what he wants while Apoc and Tyrant handle the brute strength. At this point, I see his team having an extremely hard time stopping Ultron with the likes of Doomsday and Hulk having their hands full. I don't see anyone on his team other than those two that can stop Ultron. Ultron will be used to cause havoc every where he goes.

That should leave big openings for Beta Ray Bill, Maxima, General Zod and Zoom to fight the rest of your team.

Maxima has superhuman strength, speed, very powerful Psionic powers, including Pyschokinesis and hypnotic mind control. She can make force fields, and create powerful optical beams. And, ironically, has enhanced stamina capable of taking blows from Doomsday.

Zoom is another big mismatch in favor of our team. Unless I'm mistaken, I don't see any speedsters on the opposing team. Well, technically, we don't either. Zoom doesn't have extreme speed like say a flash. He does the opposite. He slows down time, making him faster than the Flash himself. He's also shown the ability to give comrades his speed, or in this case slow everyone else down with the exception of some individuals. This ability would make characters like Apocalypse, Ultorn, Tyrant and even Deadshot even more powerful than they already are. As for Deadshot, this would give him the chance to line up his shot easily.

We haven't even mentioned Dark Phoenix, yet. She can use Telekenesis to get to the Mandarin's rings. This would be a big blow to the opposing team. I feel as if the Mandarin was keeping the Hulk and Doomsday with the game plan. Controlling them to stay focused. Still, using the Dark Phoenix for just Telekenesis would just be foolish. She is arguably the most powerful character in this entire matchup. To add to Carnage having a hard time with Pandemic, if he is somehow able to escape Pandemic, he won't against the Phoenix.
    Leader: General Zod

    God/Alien: Beta Ray Bill

    Powered Human: Zoom

    Heroine: Maxima

    Mutant: Apocalypse

    Non Powered Human: Deadshot

    Flex (Mutant): Jean Gray

    Flex (God/Alien)Tyrant

    Flex (Powered Human): Pandemic

Flex (Powered Human #2): Green Goblin

    Flex (God/Alien #2): Ultron

Really? I was worried my write up wasn't good enough, haha. That's good to hear. But anyway, here's the rest that didn't fit. Pretty much just going to show you the powers and abilities of our characters and what they're capable of.

    Apocalypse:

Apocalypse is an ancient mutant born with a variety of superhuman abilities who further augmented himself after merging with Celestial technology. The character has total control over the molecules of his body, enabling him to alter his form as it suits him, such as allowing his body to become extremely malleable and flexible or change its size, enhance his physical abilities, transform his limbs into weapons or wings and jets, regenerate from fatal injuries, adapt his body to apparently any disease or hostile environment and give himself virtually any physical superhuman power. The character is also able to project and absorb energy, and has displayed telepathy and telekinesis. Apocalypse is as well capable of technopathy, able to directly interface with the various technologies he has at his disposal. Apocalypse is also immortal, and immune to aging, not needing sustenance of any kind and can survive fatal injuries. Whether this is a separate ability or a result of his shapeshifting powers is unclear.
Aside from his superhuman powers, Apocalypse is extraordinarily intelligent, a scientific genius with knowledge in various areas of science and technology including physics, engineering, genetics and biology, that is far more advanced than conventional science. Apocalypse has knowledge of Celestial technology that he uses for his own applications, such as altering mutants or humans. Apocalypse is also a skilled demagogue and a master strategist.
Apocalypse's blood can heal other mutants, but is fatal for humans. Apocalypse's blood can also restore his de-powered mutant descendants as is seen when a large dose of Apocalypse's blood regenerates the lost body part of Chamber and gave him a look similar to Apocalypse. It is hinted that this evolved Chamber's power to Omega Level.

    Jean Grey:

Jean's powers escalate to an incalculable level, allowing her to rearrange or disintegrate matter at a subatomic level, fly unaided through space, survive in any atmosphere, and manipulate electromagnetic and cosmic energies for various effects and atmospheric disturbances. She can create stargates that can transport her anywhere in the universe instantaneously. At this level, she is powerful enough to easily defeat a herald of Galactus which include Fallen One, Silver Surfer, Gabriel the Air-Walker, Firelord, Destroyer, Terrax the Tamer, Nova, Morg the Executioner, Red Shift, Johnny Storm, Stardust and Praeter

Jean, while acting as a Phoenix Force avatar, can create 'cosmic' flames, even in seemingly impossible situations such as the vacuum of space or underwater. Typically they manifest as a raptor or part of a raptor such as a claw or wings. Jean has perfect control over these flames, and they only consume what she wills, and these flames do not require oxygen to burn, and burn so intensely that matter is consumed without by-products such as ash. It is unclear whether these flames are an extension of her telekinesis and telepathy or a more general property of the Phoenix Force. The cosmic flames are a literal punctuation to the Phoenix's purpose to "burn away what doesn't work", as well as being described as "burning through lies" and deception.
As the Phoenix, Jean is able to resurrect after death. In some depictions, these resurrections are immediately after she is killed.

The Phoenix Force allows Jean to revive, absorb, rechannel, and preserve the life-force of any kind of life-form, meaning that she can take life energy from one person and give it to others, heal herself with the same life energy, or even resurrect the dead, since the Phoenix is the sum of all life and death.

    Tyrant:

Tyrant was capable of absorbing and channelling tremendous amounts of cosmic energy for personal use, such as superhuman strength and energy projection. Courtesy of Tyrant's bio-mechanical form, the entity was capable of using psionics to control and manipulate technology. The entity was also highly durable and effectively immortal.

Tyrant appears to have vast knowledge of the living universe and cybernetics. He can also emit very powerful energy burst from both his hands and eyes.

When at full power, he proved capable of easily defeating an alliance of super-powered beings which included Silver Surfer, Morg, Terrax, Thanos, Gladiator, Ganymede, and Jack of Hearts.

    Zod:

Like all Kryptonians under a yellow sun, General Zod possesses vast strength, speed, and endurance; super hearing; x-ray vision; telescopic, microscopic, and heat vision; super-breath and freeze-breath; invulnerability; healing and flight. In the movie Superman II he also displayed telekinetic powers, able to levitate a police officer's gun into his hand. Zod possesses a detailed knowledge of military tactics, giving him an advantage over Superman's somewhat amateurish combat prowess. Zod was trained in fighting arts before receiving his abilities, while Superman is prone to battling his foes with the aid of his own.

    BRB:

Beta Ray Bill's life force and consciousness were transferred by scientists of his race into the body of an alien carnivorous equine-like beast that had been bionically restructured into a cyborg. Courtesy of highly advanced genetic engineering, the character possesses vast superhuman strength, speed, stamina, durability, and a highly extended lifespan. Beta Ray Bill is also a superior hand-to-hand combatant. His combat prowess is such that he was able to fight Thor, noted as one of the best hand-to-hand fighters in the Marvel Universe, to a standstill. Beta Ray Bill's weapon, Stormbreaker, also has the same properties as Thor's hammer, Mjolnir.

    Zoom:

Zoom can alter time relative to himself, as opposed to using the Speed Force like most of the DC Universe speedsters do. He can apparently use this ability to move at "speeds" rivaling those of even Wally West, and usually "faster" than the speeds that even Wally can muster in most cases. Rather than actually time traveling, Zoom is controlling the speed at which time flows around him, allowing him to go faster or slower in time than everyone around him. Since Zoom is not actually moving at superspeed (rather, he is greatly slowing down time relative to himself, and can make himself so "fast" that even most of the Flashes look to him to be moving in slow motion), the temporal nature of his speed allows him to avoid the usual problems encountered by other Flash-type speedsters (friction, seeing and hearing at such near-light speeds, et al.), whose automatic and unconscious use of the Speed Force overcomes those problems. As he is moving at a normal velocity, and the rest of the world is "slow", those hindrances simply do not affect him.

Even if his powers are not tied to the Speed Force, he has twice shown the ability to grant superspeed to other beings, granting Cheetah a speed rivaling Wonder Woman's, and restoring Inertia's speed, freeing him from his Speed Force-induced paralysis to turn him into his apprentice. This ability is related to the manipulation of the timestream, as he can allow others to tap into time through himself, and shut down this connection at will.

    Maxima:

As a scion of the Blood Royale of Almerac, Maxima commands a vast array of immense psionic powers that come from selective breeding and years of gene therapy which she can utilize in a variety of ways. In her first face to face encounter with Superman she displayed a high level of psionic powers, such as psychokinesis and seemingly hypnotic mind control. Maxima can use her psionic powers to give herself superhuman strength, enough to prove an effective opponent in hand-to-hand combat with Superman. She also has enhanced stamina, as well as some degree of superhuman speed. Through skillful application of her psionic powers Maxima has been shown to emit powerful optical beams that can stagger even Superman, and she can create nearly impervious force fields. In the first battle with Doomsday in Adventures of Superman #498, Maxima is the only one in that incarnation of the Justice League that was able to actually hurt and withstand blows from Doomsday, besides Superman.

    Pandemic:

Although he claimed to have copied over 300 super-powers, the only ones that could be readily identified were those of Rogue (power absorption), Jean Grey (telepathy and telekinesis), Nightcrawler (teleportation), Lady Mastermind (illusion casting), Chamber (bio blasts), Cyclops (optic blasts), Havok (plasma blasts), Storm (weather control), Bishop (energy absorption/redirection), Alchemy (elemental transmutation), Sunfire (pyrokinesis), Husk (omnimorphing), Iceman (cold and ice manipulation), Shadowcat (phasing), Cannonball (thermochemical energy generation) and 17 types of invulnerability until he absorbed Sabretooth's healing factor

Obtaining a DNA sample from Rogue and mutating it into a viral strain called Strain 87, Dr. Palance theorized that he would gain immortality with Rogue's ability to absorb a person's powers, skills, memories, and personality upon physical contact. Injecting Strain 87 into himself proved to be only a partial success as he only gained the ability to copy the mutant powers of others upon contact.

    Green Goblin:

Norman Osborn was turned into the Green Goblin by a chemical solution he had devised based upon a formula originally conceived by Professor Mendel Stromm. The process granted Osborn superhuman agility, strength, speed, stamina, and dexterity.
In addition to these physical advantages, the serum also greatly enhanced Norman's already-above average intellect, making him a bona fide genius capable of making breakthroughs in advanced areas of genetics, robotics, engineering, physics and applied chemistry.

    Ultron:

Common powers include superhuman levels of strength, speed, stamina, durability, and reflexes; flight at subsonic speeds; and various offensive weapons such as concussive blasts of energy fired from its optical sensors and hands, and an "encephalo-ray", which places victims into a deathlike coma. The latter ray also allows Ultron to mesmerize and mind-control victims, or implant subliminal hypnotic commands within their minds to be enacted at a later time. Ultron also has the ability to convert electromagnetic radiation into electrical energy for use or storage. Ultron has a genius intellect, a capacity for creative intelligence and self-repair, superhuman cybernetic analytical capabilities, and the ability to process information and make calculations with superhuman speed and accuracy. The character is an expert roboticist and strategist.

Ultron's outer armor is usually composed of primarily adamantium, which is almost completely impervious to damage.Ultron can also control other machines remotely. Ultron has occasionally reformed itself with a humanoid appearance above the waist and the appearance of a complex machine, including tractor beam apparatus for flight, below the waist.

Here's the half my writeup I had the time to finish, been super busy lately

The Mandarin (not the one from Iron Man 3, the REAL one) is widely known to be one of the best manipulators in all of comics. The Mandarin has the abilities to control the Hulk and with this uninterrupted prep time he’ll easily be able to control the Hulk, and be able to harness Doomsday. With their raw strength, power and near indestructability harnessed and focused there is literally no being that can stand before them.

Jean Grey is the most powerful person on the opposing team, and an omega level mutant. However utilizing Parasite and his ability to drain the life force and DNA of an opponent not only can she be neutralized but Parasite can absorb her powers. Not to mention that most of my squad are telepath immune beings who can just smash these physically weak characters. Beta Ray Bill will be the focus of Doomsday. Doomsday who is powerful enough to kill Superman, and will easily be able to adapt to anything that Beta Ray Bill can throw at him.

The only issue I have with the Mandarin "controlling" the Hulk and/or Doomsday is that those two, while still powerful, lack the ability to hit their true power limits when they are being controlled. The Hulk's anger is his fuel and to "put a leash on him" so to speak would hinder that in my eyes (a lot like how when Banner's mind was in control of the Hulk body, he was still very very strong, but had limits). Doomsday, to me, is a force of nature type of being and while you can still get a lot of output of power from him while controlling him, I feel like his true power comes from just being something that is let loose onto an enemy.

This is a very tough matchup. I thought Superdude had the best team in the DC Conference so we actually voted him as the top seed. Mainly because I felt he had a ton of versatility with his characters (has 2 powerful telepaths, and an underrated powerful magic user, as well as a power stealer in Parasite) and in addition might have the 2 strongest beings in the game. Between the Hulk and Doomsday, they could wreak unspeakable damage on the entire battlefield. And with a way to control both, Superdude has a very strong team.

However I really like the power of KJ's team as well. And I haven't gotten a chance to read his write-up yet so definitely want to do that before I vote. Also, want to give both sides a chance to defend their team since this is a tough matchup with both sides possessing a ton of powers. I actually thought that these might've been the 2 most powerful teams in the conference but something that held KJ and Lucky's team back for me was the chemistry aspect in regards to Beta Ray Bill working with a bunch of villains.

KJ and Lucky, Superdude does have illusion casting. You're forgetting about Circe, who outside of Dr. Fate, might be the most powerful magic user in the DC Univers.

I'm honestly surprised you didn't even mention the other ways you have of controlling Hulk and Doomsday. Such as your 2 very powerful telepaths or your very powerful evil magic user (Circe, who might get underrated).

The other issue is that Doomsday is basically a mindless creature so controlling him could be tough even with telepaths, magic users and the Mandarin. But maybe with all of them, he could.
