That's an awesome story. Must have been a great moment for you. Did you tear up at all?

Not really. It was kind of funny actually, I was out mowing my lawn and he came out and asked me if I would mow his as he needed to go and buy a riding lawn mower. I had heard from some friends (one of which I went to high school with and his his nephew) that he was buying the house. He offered to pay me $100 and I told him I would trade him for an autograph. Anyways, I told him the story about the ball and he signed it and later invited me over for some hamburgers off the grill and a few bottles of "pop" (Lablatt's Blue Light).

I just saw his name listed and did not look at the list.

Whoever did this Top-100 is on crack. I just started viewing the names and it's already a mile-off the mark.

Yeah several of the names are poster favorites. Top 100 ? Hmmm . Many are not in my mind but we all have our own opinion.

I wouldn't have minded him if he could play a decent outfield with a decent swing

Dick Tracewski should be #78, but I understand the writer not wanting to cross swords.

The fact that Higgy even made the list is questionable at best...that dude was aw-ful.

Higgy wasn't awful. He was the best player we had on the team for a 6 year stretch.

Ahoda, he parlayed one good season into a contract...good for him. Tony Clark, Dean Palmer, and Travis Fryman were equally as mediocre during that 6 year stretch which saw all of them trade the title of "best Tiger of the year" from 1997-2002. Higginson was only the best player on the Tigers roster in 2000 (his career year). He was a lifetime .272 hitter who was a prick at best. His last three seasons with the Tigers are some that I will have a hard time ever forgetting. You are giving the guy too much credit.

Not giving him any credit. He was a giant douche, but he was still better then average. He had 6 really good seasons and his career WAR is 20. Not too shabby.
