I forgot to include good ole Jim Bunning. And how about Mickey Stanley? He came in from the outfield and played shortstop during the 68 WS . Speaking of the 68 WS. Mickey Lolich. Not only did he win three games during that series but he beat the great Bob Gibson in game seven 9-1. Hit a hr as well.
But how can we speak of great Tigers without including Ernie Harwell ?
yes ahoda I am old. Respect your elders . LOL

When I was 10 I got a ground rule double ball hit by Mickey Stanley and waited by the Tigers dugout after the game to try and get him to sign it. 20 years later....Living in Green Oak Township, Michigan (on Silver Lake) Mickey bought the house next door to me and I finally got the autograph I wanted so desperately at 10 yo.
The Man, The Myth, The legend? Oh, well, I am theoldgoalie!!!
I always liked Steve Kemp and was bummed when the Tigers traded him for Chet Lemon, but Lemon quickly became my favorite Tiger. He was a grinder and played CF as good as anyone. Jason Thompson was also one of my favorites.... Years ago I used to work for him (Thompson). He owned a chain of Pro Golf Shops in the Keego Harbor area and I was the manager at his Keego Harbor Store in 1992-1993.
