Fire Don Mattingly and Dave Hansen Immediately

    1. Do not blame pitching, when everyone is hurt and our ERA is virtually the same
    2. Do not blame team chemistry, when at the start of the year, our team did not have any chemistry as well, besides for Kemp and Ethier we had no one else to drive in runs
    3. Do not say let's wait until 2013

If anyone is going to post in this thread, can we make sure you read #1-3, before posting anything constructive.. thanks ahead of time

Aj Ellis 287 Aug 5th, Sep 20th 266 very few days off, even less since Fed-ex was called up September 1st
Adrian Gonzales 0 days off with Dodgers
Hanley Ramirez 0 days off with Dodgers
Shane Victorino 1 day off with dodgers (1 homerun 11 RBI since being acquired 174 At bats)

Juan Rivera(I know hear me out) 2 homeruns 9 RBI since Aug 1st in 65 At bats (He should have been in more at bats for suggested days off for Gonzales and Victorino)
    Minor league options:
Left Field (Castellanos) 328 batting average 17 homeruns in 94 games
Left Field (Van slyke) 327 batting average 18 homeruns 67 RBI in 95 games
    Catcher (Fed-ex) 294 Batting Average 11 homeruns 76 RBI

Plain and simple. Mattingly blew it this year for us, and he deserves to be fired. I won't blame him in pitching because we are still #4 in the Majors despite all of our injuries. But why is our hitting 26/30 after acquiring Hanley Ramirez, Adrian Gonzales and Victorino? Why is our lineup not getting any days off besides for Cruz/Mark Ellis here and there?

The solution fire dave hansen and Mattingly. This is atrocious and painful that it had to come down to this kind of thread. Hopefully our new ownership can see this themselves, especially after all the payroll they took on to help improve us.

    Current Lineup
    1. Mark Ellis
    2. Andre Ethier
    3. Kemp
    4. Gonzalez
    5. Ramirez
    6. Cruz
    7. Victorino
    8. Aj Ellis
    9. Pitcher

    Should be lineup:
Aj Ellis should be #2 in situations versus lefties. Ethier should not start every game versus lefty starters. Victorino should never be batting #7 because he should always be batting #8. *Also note for the longest Victorino was batting #1 or #2.. Aj ellis has been #8 all year despite leading the team in On base percentage

Next year is his last year, In my opinion, Dodgers should fire him now. Let Hillman finish the year and we will figure out who to replace him in the offseason

I forgot to add in the original thread why in the world is Hanley still playing short stop instead of 3rd base? I mean he is flat out terrible there.

We could argue about this all day, either way its not gonna happen. I doubt he gets fired unless Dodgers are sub .500 at all star break next year.

I don't think this statement is accurate, No one thought we would pull off the big acquisitions of Gonzalez, Beckett and Crawford, but yet no one believes we could get rid of Mattingly? I think there is a strong chance he isn't coming back next year..

    1. We could definitely blame the pitching because after the hanley and shane trades the pitching is what put us in this position in the first place and now they're pulling through while the hitters are in a slump, hitters slump.

    2. Yeah, we did have team chemistry, i dont know what you saw but I saw a team that knew each other already, most of this team at the start of the season had already known each other last year when the Dodgers were hot and they just continued that streak.

    3. We may have to, our top 3 starters are all hurt, half our bullpen is hurt, the Giants played harder (or played weaker teams) since Melky left.

Dave Hansen was the hitting coach during some of Ethiers best streaks ever, while Kemp was hammering the ball (he hit way better after Hansen became the hitting coach) Elian Herrera, Luis Cruz and AJ Ellis, all minor league journey men became legit players. Mark Ellis found his stroke again in a non hitters park, and Hanley Ramirez became dangerous again, (.428 slg pre trade, .478 post).

Also, Don Mattingley worked with spare stuff and make them into winners, we were predicted by nearly everybody to go .500 this season and at most 84 wins, as of right now he's over that pace so even though it may be a disappointment cuz of how hot of a start the team had, the end result is better than was expected.

and I'll keep saying this, the reason this team is struggling is:

    1. Injuries
    2. Chemistry
    3. Stronger opponents (although theres no excuse for getting our butts kicked by Arizona and Colorado)

^^^^I respect the analysis and actually agree for the most part..

I still think Legitimate gripes are Hanley playing short stop instead of 3rd, Adrian and Hanley with no days off since being traded to us. Not giving Fed-ex 1 at bat since being called up. Not giving Castellanos any playing time. It might seem like nit-picking but for how close we have been losing, we need to actually break down what would have won us in these games.. No one is perfect, so I will lay off of him for now

It's funny how Hansen is a bum now, a year ago when he took over for Pentland he was a genius. For whatever reason this team is not hitting, blame it on Mattingly, Hansen, chemistry, injuries, bad approach or pressing. At the end of the day the only players at or above their career averages are Cruz and A.J. Ellis and thats minor league averages.

I agree that giving the regulars time off might improve the team overall, however most if not all managers are going to ride their veterans when chasing the leaders unless you have a Harper or Trout on the bench. The time to find out about Castellanos , Van Slyke and others was when Kemp, Ethier, Ellis and others were on the DL. Not trotting out Rivera, Abreu, Loney and others who were not hitting.

Mattingly was already extended for 2013 unless the team starts out miserably next year he's not going anywhere. Hansen may not be brought back, but there has been nothing to indicate that.

I don't think Hanley will be moved off of short, too many rumors of him being unhappy about playing third, maybe he will move I don't know.

i agree, i dont like hanley at short but we dont know why don did it, and he doesnt have to tell us

i dont know why fed isnt' getting time, he could be sucking it up at practice or before the game and don doest like what he sees, its so easy to say "why doesn't he do that" when we dont know the internals, he sees these guys every day.

If only the organization had been so patient with Bill Russell as with Mattingly. He had 88 wins as his only full season, then was fired the year after and left his manager record at 173-149.

I don't like Mattingly. As a motivator, if you see his faces, he always looks as if he had just burried all his family.
As a strategy master, he only knows to handle a bullpen if there are 15 players in. He is a Yankee, I don't like Yankees, fly back to the Bronx, they need a batboy.

For Hansen it's more difficult, when he arrived last year, he had an immediate impact for our offense. Then arly this year when Kemp was injered, the team was full of Rookies and veterans (Herrera, Abreu, Hairston) and we were in 1st place.

These are the trades who screwed everything up. Should we fire Hansen because Hernandez and Ramirez are not hitting ? I don't think so
10-4 record at Dodger stadium !
    1-0 road record
