Ainge has built one helluva team

I know he has a championship under his wings as GM, but this upcoming team has to be one of my favorites in the Ainge era. Holy crap this team is damn good on paper ...

    Rondo/Terry/Dooling
    Lee/Bradley
    Pierce/Green/Joseph
    Bass/Sullinger/Collins
    KG/Wilcox/Melo

Even more rumors of a Kenyon Martin and/or Terrence Williams addition ? Are you kidding me ?

If Ainge hits on the likes of Sullinger early, it's watch out time for the others in this league. This might be the only team outside of a healthy Rose from Chicago who could give Miami a run for their money. Helluva job by Danny Ainge. Helluva job.

I do like what Boston has done with their roster. Impressive, especially if you guys manage to get Kenyon Martin. But hopefully he gets his head out of his *** and accepts the min. to come down to the MIA.

Jason Terry will do wonders for you guys. He always kills the Heat.

Yep, on paper this is one helluva team.

DA has managed to begin a serious rebuilding campaign while maintaining a core group of veteran players. It's a championship contender... on paper.

Barring a complete across the board breakdown on the injury front ala last season I do believe this roster can contend.
    Lee / Terry
    Bradley /Crawford / Williams
    Pierce / Green
    Bass / Wilcox / White
    KG / Randolph / Melo

    Injured: Rondo, Sullinger

    Draft wish list: Gorgui Dieng

Complete? KG goes down Dec 23rd for the year... and any talk of contending is done.

Ainge did a good job, but the depth at the #4 and the #5 is a major question.

I'm looking forward to the season, but I'm going to wait before I label 'em.

Taking nothing away from Garnett, Rondo is the one player the Celtics can ill afford to lose for any length of time. Why? Simply because he makes those around him better.

It can be argued that Garnett makes others better as well, especially on defense, but not to the extent that Rondo currently does, imo. Not at this stage of Garnett's career.

And judging by many posters comments here (and elsewhere) there is agreement with this. When they talk about Bass, the positive effect of playing with Rondo is often mentioned. Ditto for Wilcox. Everyone is looking forward to seeing Wilcox runnng with Rondo. Ditto for Green and Lee. It is the intangible that makes Rondo so valuable.

Looks like Christmas time came early for Dionte. He's got a great shot at this roster.

Unless Ainge is adding Terrence Williams instead.

Based on last year can't agree. KG is the guy that erases the gambles of players like Rondo. KG is a vastly better shooter in all meanings of that term. KG is a fine rebounder, and a great passer for a big.

Rondo is a great passer - that PP was able to replace when Rondo was suspended. He's a horrific shooter, good rebounder - for a guard. Excellent defender.

KG is fierce and doesn't compromise. The team took on his personality when he came - obviously more than any other player, and he still holds court.

Rondo is an immature hot head that alternates between whining to the press about being on the block, picking fights with Max, picking fights with cameramen, starting trouble with HOF teammates, or getting suspended.

Intangibles is a word used to describe a player that a person likes on a subjective level that objective evidence cannot be found to support.

Shortly, it will be Rondo's team which fills me with no confidence and little hope. He cannot lead with his game or his regrettable personality.

That's just your anti-Rondo bias surfacing once again.

No it's the voice of reason. Unlike some of the 'everything is great' crowd around here, I prefer to see through the lens of logic, not rah rah team first - say nothing ill about our binky crowd.

Outside of my foreboding about the Celts under the control of Rondo do you dispute my post in factual terms?

If we win it all this year, it will no doubt have something to do with Rondo. Would you finally praise him then?
