52 solo tackles, 12 assisted tackles, 11 sacks, 4 forced fumbles, 1 fumble recovery for 60 yds. and a touchdown, 2 interceptions for 143 yds ( the most all time in one season by a D lineman ) 1 he ran back 46 yds. for a TD and the other he ran back 97 yds. and was tripped up at the 1 yd. line. 9 passes defensed, 4 stuffs, 1 blocked kick.

JPP had a very impressive season last year, but it was not as good as Peppers 3rd season in the league.

So JPP had more solo tackles than Peppers has COMBINED tackles. Not even close. JPP had 6.5 MORE SACKS THAN PEPPERS. JPP also had a blocked game winning field goal vs the Cowboys which saved the Giants season. And he won a ring. He had 8 stuffs and 4 in the playoffs alone. 7 passes defended and 4 in the playoffs.

These guys are not cornerbacks...a couple interceptions does not make a season better considering that JPP had way more tackles and sacks

Meh, while being a very good pass-rusher, he simply isn't on the level of the other players, imo. He, too, was kinda a one-trick pony, imo, like Freeny and, while a very good pass rush, simply wasn't on Freeny's level in that regard.

Freeney has been one of the best pure pass rushers over the past decade, he may be a one trick pony but that is because of the system he was in and because he was damn good at it. I don't like one trick ponies either, but when they deliver like Freeney on a consistent basis then they deserve respect and credit.

No doubt, and I gave him credit. In fact, he might be the most talented pass-rusher in the game during my lifetime. However, it just doesn't make up for an overall lineman who can do everything. I was using hyperbole with the "15", but I do think the guy has been overrated due to the sexy sack numbers.

Peppers is actually the better player to be honest. Peppers has already made more pro bowls than Taylor and is tied with Strahan. Peppers has as many first team all pros as Taylor and 1 less than Strahan, but more second team all pros than Taylor and tied with Strahan. Peppers is going to pass them in sack totals and just about every other statistic, although Taylor is impressive with his forced fumble totals and passes defensed.

It's a matter of role. Peppers plays more of a conventional lineman role while Taylor was the versatile end on a defense that featured multiple sets and assignments for a very long time. He played more in pass coverage off the line than Peppers will ever dream of, and simply brought more to the table, while being likely as good of a pass rusher.

All-pros and pro bowls are meaningless. Due to Taylor's role in Miami he just didn't get the same sexy sack numbers which people drool over in those votes. Taylor could have had double digit sacks every year, imho.

That is your opinion and you are entitled to it until I say otherwise , but it wasn't just a couple of interceptions, it was 2 interceptions for 143 yards, 1 fumble recovery for 60 yds, 2 defensive touchdowns, 2 passes defensed, 2 forced fumbles, more than JPP had. Both are impressive seasons, but Peppers had the more impressive season all across the board IMO.

You think Peppers will pass Strahan in tackles? Because right now Strahan has twice as much tackles as Peppers.

Peppers will need to play another 4 years getting 10 sacks a year for him to pass Strahan in sacks. He's 32 years old. It's no lock to happen.

disagree Strahan was very inconsistent, Peppers will probably end up with more career sacks then him anyways. As for Taylor if Peppers continues putting up 10+ sack season no chance Taylor was better. Peppers will best these 2 as hes a freak.

Julius Peppers was used in coverage a TON in his earlier Carolina days, he dropped all the time on zone blitzes. Not only that but he moves all over the line of scrimmage, especially with the Bears, he is used like Reggie White was, Peppers is the more versatile defender.
