I think it would be an interesting change up for next year.
I'd be real interested in that idea. Once specifics are worked out.

Only real problems are 1) whiny *****es and 2) no one attempted to understand the roster limits until the end of the game. I don't think the Redraft was that bad, just ignore the annoying people in the lounge and everyone will be fine in the future.

How would an auction work though? like every day a certain amount of players are open?

Make threads like a mock except everyone is a free agent. Only like 4 threads a day per person I was thinking? Something like that so it doesn't go too fast. Its all pretty rough right now.

Ok but how do you prevent someone putting in an offer one second before the thread closes?

That's why I almost feel like we should implement a maximum allowable offer and have a draft order similar to an auction fantasy football draft. Then we could implement sort of a waiver order. For example. Suppose the guy with the No. 1 pick bids the max offer for Aaron Rodgers. He would automatically get Rodgers. Suppose he bids less than the max bid and refuses to bid the max amount, but the guy with the No. 4 pick bids the max bid followed by the guy with the No. 2 pick an hour later. Based on the priority order, the guy with the second pick would get Rodgers unless the guy with the top picks goes max bid.

Obviously this would only be an issue for early rounds, but it would give a slight advantage to the person picking and those whose picks are coming up.

It would be open till there are no posts in the thread for like 72 hours or something.

Only problem with that is Aaron Rodgers/etc would be open forever and most people would wait to see what their QB/whatever does before going elsewhere. What about something like if there are no posts for 72 hours or if it is open for 96 it goes to a private bid for the top teams.

    Silent auction.

Or you're gonna have 2-3 days per player.
