Thing is, Shelby's stock really plummeted last year. His #'s were horrible, regardless of his age. There is risk involved from our standpoint, not so much from theirs because they can carry Iglesias at SS in the NL which would be a big upgrade for them and Buchholz would do very well in that division plus he's signed to a team friendly extension.

Actually, Miller's stock really picked up at the end of the year. His K/BB was insane the last ten starts (70/7). He also pitched great in his first MLB start. He was in Sickel's top 5 and i bet that won't be the only top 5 he's a part of. Buccholz would run train on that division though. With him the Cardinals would easily be NL Central favorites.

    Sickels wrote this in September:
With a mid-90s fastball, two impressive secondary pitches, and better control, Miller still profiles as a top-of-the-rotation starter.

5.40 ERA with 97/46 K/BB in 88 innings in Triple-A, 95 hits allowed, including 17 homers. Has gone backwards in all phases of the game, but he's still just 21, and hasn't allowed a run in his last two starts. Stock has declined, but still a very good prospect.
That's what I found from Sickels on Shelby.

Trade Ellsbury and a mid level prospect or two to the Rangers for Andrus, then trade Iglesias to the Blue Jays for Lind and a low level prospect or PTBNL
Proud to be PSD's Danny Woodhead

Lind is only slightly better at offense but Loney is better defensively. Both are horrid options.

Anyone like the idea of going after Adams from the Cards or C.J Cron of the Angels. Both are young, blocked and have good power. Cron is still in the minors but could come up with our other prospects. If we got Cron we could possibly get Morneau for a year or two or another stop gap until Cron is ready

If we ae going to trade for Haren they should try to put Cron in that deal too. Getting Haren/Cron would be a huge win.

That would be a great deal I think Cron would be exactly what we need he's young and still in the minors. the team could build chemistry in the minors and all come up together and would really have a great chance at the world series with a few more acquisitions and some veteran leaders

Kevin Youkilis will be back in Boston as the 2013 opening day starting first baseman.

Mark my words. Youk at First, Middlebrooks at 3rd, Agon now in LA. It all makes sense.

He never wanted to leave but Valentine was a reason he needed to go.

Now that Bobby V is gone, Youk will forgive, forget, and return to his teammates.

    Im almost positive.
