    Stanford Routt

He was just cut by the Chiefs. He was pretty decent in Oakland and haven't heard much from him in Kansas City. Possible addition? Thoughts?

He is every bit as good as any CB on our team, including houston. He was playing on a team with no defensive coordinator and a sorry head coach. I read that he was cut because he was too vocal on how the defensive scheme was not working and was over critical on the team's overall performance.

I would be thrilled if we could sign him but he will want a long term deal (which I would like to see him get)

If we claim him on waivers, don't we just take over his current contract? I think it was like 3 years 19M but KC has already paid 6M of that. Him and Houston would be a great 1-2 (well better than what we've seen in recent years).

he had 17 penalties last season. think about that for a second. 17 friggin penalties for a cornerback.

You are right! I didn't realize he was waived. I couldve sworn the only time a player can be waived is if they are in their first contract as a rookie or FA. This is his second deal so I'm a little confused on how it works now

Bill Bentley was rackin up penalties before his exit as well but we can see the potential.

This would be a good long term pick up for us in an upcoming season with houston and delmas potentially leaving us

Routt ran a 4.27 40? Having never really focuses on him during a game, does his speed actually translate to the field?

Man, for as many people who were all hyped up over the jacob lacey signing and when kevin barnes trade when it went down, I figured Routt would have gotten cut some slack.

It will be interesting to see the reaction if we do actually claim him
