2 things:
1. Re-sign Anibal Sanchez.
2. Upgrade at SS. Haven't looked at the FA pool of SS yet. Anyone good gonna be on the market? Guess we could always trade for one but we'd have to overpay.

Agreed on the SS. Peralta is serviceable but that's definitely an area where we can improve. Not really any FA's I'd be interested in tho. I've been saying for a while that we should try to get Andrus away from the Rangers. Maybe with Profar coming up we could make it happen. He'd look good in the 2 hole for us.
Not sure we have enough to get Andrus from the Rangers. Don't suggest Scherzer either. No way would I trade an arm like his to the Rangers. They'd be scary with him in their rotation.
what about porcello? ha ha

If they aren't satisfied with just Porcello we could always resign Valverde and include him in the deal. The Rangers would be fools to pass on that.

As the way things look now, not much change in the team is necessary. if hamilton or some other quality outfielder can be signed then i bet dave goes and gets them (unless we win this year). but letting valverde and delmon leave with the addition of VMart and hopefully resigning anibal, i dont see us making many moves.
I'm glad Peralta has has shown up big time in the playoffs, with the bat and the glove, I didn't really want him back but the way he's playing now there's no chance they don't pick up his option.
So is this lack of Porcello in the postseason a sign that hes trade bait? One of my favorite under 25 arms in the league and I think hed take a big leap forward with the Cubs.
How about Porcello, Castellanos, and Santiago for Castro, Barney, and a bullpen arm?
I can't see the Cubs trading Castro. He's their franchise piece.
