I agree. I think we should keep Porcello cause he might have a break out season and if he doesn't then trade him in July. But because there is so many teams interested in him right now someone is going to offer a deal that DD can not refuse. So I think he will be traded this offseason.

His value is highest right now. He will be traded now. I like Rick as our 5th man if we didn't have someone else better, but Smyly is better, and he is a southpaw unlike the rest of our rotation. Rick is just the odd man out. It happens in this business and he understands that better than any of us.
A dozen teams called? And with teams desperate for pitching? He's gone. No doubt about it.
And we will get something good.
At this point Smyly is our 5th starter, given the edge over porcello at this point according to team officials.

Knobler reported that were taking calls on Smyly too.
I imagine we take calls on both, but I'd bet neither gets traded.
Porcello will be the number 5, Smyly will start in Toledo.

It appears as of 15 minutes ago, Neither is solidified a spot on the roster as they are taking calls on both pitchers at the moment
http://www.rotoworld.com/player/mlb/6671/drew-smylyAccording to CBS Sports' Danny Knobler, the Tigers are "taking calls" on left-hander Drew Smyly.
I bet teams laughed at trading for Porshit so they have to dangle Smyly in hopes of getting some MIF help.
