They won 88 games and only got in due to a weak division. They barely beat the A's, dominated a old and tired Jeter-less Yankees, then got swept in the WS. They add VMart to an already slow team that plays below average defense that really already has two 1B/DH's. Adding a guy that had a career year the same year he gets busted for PED's and improving their best asset with another SP doesn't adequately address their weaknesses. I'd like the Tigers to be built to be good for the next decade and I think Prince weakens that possibility.

Lots of roster decisions coming up. Do we want to let them hit free agency? Who can we afford to extend? Scherzer is the most likely to be traded IMO, he is a Boras client, we all know he likes his players to hit Free agency.

Trading Fielder would free up a ton of Payroll

I agree on Scherzer, sell high before his arm blows up or he cashes in. Or he goes back to being maddeningly inconsistent.

I am all for trading Max if we resign Annibal. He would be a good piece to trade to Texas in a deal for Andrus or even to Baltimore for Hardy and Johnson.

    Rotoworld:

According to Buster Olney of ESPN, Jeremy Bonderman is progressing well in his recovery from Tommy John surgery and is intent on making a return to the MLB in 2013.
Bonderman underwent Tommy John surgery in April of 2012 and hasn't pitched in the big leagues since posting a disappointing 5.53 ERA over 171 innings with the Tigers in 2010. He's allegedly dropped 35 pounds and is in fantastic shape, and should be able to generate a spring training invitation from somewhere.

This...although I like prince. I just think we need a better 2 hitter. Get people on base every time cabby, prince, and vmart are up. Then hit dirks after them with avila, peralta, and infante to end the lineup.

Why not? I'd like to see him get a minor league deal.

Also just saw the Dodgers are eying Sanchez. Fml.

Jim Bowden of ESPN.com is the latest to offer up his predicted prices on the top 50 free agents and the best fits for each. And while we see starter Anibal Sanchez and reliever Rafael Soriano as possible fits for the Tigers -- which other sites have speculated -- a few interesting names come up as corner-outfield possibilities.

The following names came up in Bowden's column, along with their best fits:

    • Nick Swisher: Orioles, Phillies, Braves, Tigers, Mariners

    • Angel Pagan: Giants, Nationals, Tigers, Phillies

    • Torii Hunter: Yankees, Angels, Rangers, Tigers

    • Melky Cabrera: Tigers, Blue Jays, Phillies

    • Cody Ross: Phillies, Tigers, Red Sox, Braves

I'll hurt something if we overpay for Swisher. Hunter I'd like.

    This.

    I want Torii.

Torii, Anibal, and maybe a Dotel-like arm for the pen, and I'll call the offseason a success.

How about making a deal with Cleveland for Perez and Cabrera?

I can't see the Tigers front office or fans wanting anything to do with Perez after he ran his mouth a few times about the team and city last season.
