Maybe just maybe, our coaching staff can't coach TEs.

Yea for real, I think every time the ball is thrown to him he falls down. Kind of makes his height useless.

6 targets, 1 catch...happened to be a TD when the game was pretty much over. I'm almost certain that 3-4 of his targets resulted in him falling on his *** too.

I think Olsen's just an okay TE, but the Bears could use someone like him, someone that's at least a threat in the passing game.

Hopefully E-Rod turns into something. At least he's showing a willingness to block someone so far.

I have never been really impressed by Spaeth either. Yes, he's a better blocker, but he's not this great blocking TE that he is made out to be; he's pretty average.

Between Spaeth contract and Kellen $2.4 M due next season, we really know how to over pay for average, at best, TEs.

Funny thing was how Kellen talk before the season started:

Bears TE Kellen Davis said he expects a dramatic increase in production this season.
The 6'7/262 Davis had a chance to sign elsewhere in free agency, but was intrigued by his opportunity with the Bears now that Mike Martz is gone. "I'd like to have between 40-60 catches at least," Davis said. "I'm hoping to get out there and put some numbers up. ... I get a lot of first reads on a lot of plays. So it's all looking good for me right now."
It's going to take a while for him to get to the 40-60 catches range when he goes 1/6.

As for E-Rod, he seams to be a really good blocker so far, but due to his size, I don't know if he will ever be a true TE. He seams to be more of a Hernandez type TE, where he can use his size and speed as a WR, line up in the backfield as a FB/H-back, and stay at TE on some downs.

    Things Kellen Does Well:

    • Shaving his head
    • Wears a uniform during games

    Things Kellen Doesn't Do Well:
    • Catch Footballs
    • Block
    • Separate from anyone
    • Have an idea where the first down marker is

    Kellen Davis

I like the rookie we drafted.

You can cover a turd in sugar but in the end you'll still have a turd... Or you'll have a typical Marc Trestman press conference describing his pathetic team.
