With Lucic $6 million cap hit the B's will go into next off-season with $12.8 million in available cap space. The following players will be FA's next off-season

    Nathan Horton - UFA
    Tuukka Rask - RFA
    Tim Thomas - UFA
    Anton Khudobin - UFA
    Andrew Ference - UFA
    Jordan Caron - RFA

Nice to see that the team is getting these contracts done now unlike the last time before the lockout. Nice job PC

I definitely want Horton and Rask back. If there is a season I could also see Ference getting an extension mid season.

Rask is a definite, Horton I'm still up in the air. If he comes back and is still that 25/25 guy then yes I'd want him back. Ference I think will take a hometown discount to stay in Boston, he loves it here.

I would like to bring back Khudobin as well if he plays well and keeps a price tag under 1.5

    More money for less years...

If he can do 30/30 and hit I think he will be worth every penny...but he has to start hitting again

First reaction is "hmmm. Seems slightly more than expected." but I think this is basic supply/demand. How many players do what Lucic does? Anyway at the end of the day there are two bits of info to add to this signing.

In the new CBA all these contracts will likely be devalued slightly as the players take less money (of the pie) than they're currently getting. As I understand it.

As far as our cap: Chiarelli said today the new cba will have more provisions for shedding giving him more flexibility.

Agreed. He needs to hit more (and not just go into the corner, hit and lose the puck, he needs to end up with the puck) and show up in the playoffs from now on.

Lucic had the most hits of his career last season.

Really I noticed very few of them...so I will further my statement with he has to get bigger hits....like the one on miller. It needs to be game changing hits.

When was the last time he flattened malkin or ovi? Players especially the big names need to fear playing him.
