Since I'm a prick, I wanted to bump this thread.

Russell Wilson is in the pro bowl. Just thought that it was deserving of being noted.

Andrew Luck, Robert Griffin III, and Colin Kaepernick walk into a bar... To watch Russell Wilson win the Super Bowl.

Any truth to his agent already wanting a new deal?

Yeah and he can't because it is a rule in the CBA. NFL players cannot renegotiate a new contract within 3 years of their rookie contract.

Weird, not the rule, but more the fact that they would even bring it up then.

Russ wilson said basically said mortensen is an idiot for reporting that.....

Russell Wilson says he hasn't asked for, and won't ask for, a new contract. Chris Mortensen reported that a representative of Wilson's reached out to the Seahawks and asked that his contract be modified in the way of his terrific rookie season, capped off by his 385-yard passing performance in a 30-28 playoff loss to Atlanta. Wilson reached out to me this morning to say: "I speak for myself, and I never demanded or asked for a restructured contract ... I have complete understanding and respect for the new CBA rules ... Anyone who knows me knows I play for the love of the game. I play for the challenge of being the best one day and know I have a long way to go.'' The CBA Wilson refers to is the Collective Bargaining Agreement, signed in July 2011, which mandates that rookies' contracts for draft choices not be "renegotiated, amended or altered in any way'' until after the final game of the player's third season. Wilson, a third-round pick in 2012 of the Seahawks, will make $527,000 and $662,000 over the next two seasons, and then, early in 2014, could get a commensurate payday from the Seahawks. But not until then. "I respect the NFL, respect the new CBA, respect my teammates, respect all of the other players across the league, and respect the Seattle Seahawks,'' Wilson added. So that puts a lid on that.
This was from Monday Morning QB on SI.com with peter king. So Wilson knows the CBA and didnt ask for a negotiation of his contract

I watched wilson in college and have continued watching him in the nfl, I have always liked him and still do. Since I live here in Seattle I see and hear plenty about him, the difference between me and you is im not biased toward him. iam not a seahawk fan so I judge him based on what i see not what i want to believe. I do think he is your franchise QB, im not saying he is garbage. I simply think he is overrated and will come back down to earth next year. A lot of his big plays both passing and running came from broken plays with him scrambling around to stay alive, ask Vick if you can make a career of that. I know im not convincing you of anything and you still think he is the most amazing rookie ever but its just my opinion.

Wilson may know the CBA, but it wasn't reported that he asked for it, but a rep of his which is what makes the story so odd. An agent or anyone of that capacity should know the guidelines more than a player does. If anything comes out of this whole thing is that he may want to look for an upgrade in his advising circle.
