I'm guessing we will draft a DE or saftey depending on the play or our current rookies. I think DE because we may not want to franchise Cliff again and I doubt his contract request goes down...not to mention KVB is getting old and it would be nice to have his replacement (or his rotation replacement) on the team already.

Were for sure taking a DE early unless the hammer goes nuts in his limited playing time this year..

I think i read somewhere a while back, That mayhew dont like to draft DBs high because he was a DB in his playing days and he has has an eye for DB talent so he prefers to get em in FA or the later rounds...

I agree and it's safe taking a DE no matter what

take a DE in the 1st round

then even if Avril re-signs, then you have a great rotation

    Rookie DE/KVB/Lo Jack
    Avril/Young/Lewis

that's super solid and obviously at that point Lo Jack is traded or KVB, but that's obvious.

Here's what I'd like to see first 3 rounds

    1. DE/CB/S
    2. DE/CB/S/OG/OC/*RB
    3. DE/CB/S/OG/OC/*RB
*only if Best is truly done and Leshoure doesn't do much

obviously if we take a DE in the 1st, then we don't get one in 2nd, 3rd. But if we can get 3 of those positions, we probably get 3 starters again from the draft (DE is a big if, since Young will be there and KVB, but still a chance)

Another first round running back, huh? Man...this forum kills me sometimes.

I think I'd rather use a 1st round pick on a kicker than another WR!

    Early Notes

What's up guys, it's been a long time. Been in the process of a move for awhile. Anyone who remembers me knows I'm a big fan of the draft process. It's finally to the point where that's not all we need to talk about, thank the lord, but I just wanted to throw a few names out there that would really bloster our roster through the draft, all of which being first round picks types.

    -David Amerson CB NC State.

Dude is a shutdown corner that we all know we desperately need. He looks like a true number 1 and could make us that much better from day one.

-Bjoern Werner DE Florida State University.

KVB clone with room to grow. You can't not love this guy. He has such a high motor, can stop the run, rush the passer. He is a big physical player. We are a team that puts a lot on our DEs and this guy can either step in for KVB right away, or for Avril if he leaves. Dude just looks like a can't miss type player.

    -Barrett Jones Alabama.

This guy can do it all, and can do it all very good. That's why he is so hard to pass on. Can come in and start at either guard spot, center, right tackle, and the man has an entire year of experience at LT at the dominant Alabama. I would not be mad with this man on my team.

    -Tony Jefferson S Oklahoma.
Dude looks like a real stud safety in the making, I find myself liking him more than any other safety in this deep looking safety class. He looks great against the run, and equally well against the pass. Our defense asks our safetys to be able to do both well, and he does that. Also he is an Oklahoma product and we all saw what happened last year, even if it was just luck of the draw.

    -Tyrann Mathieu CB LSU

We all know what happened to this guy. Smoking weed, bonehead move, not like we haven't seen this before. If we could get this guy in a lions uni, I'd be stoked. Another guy that fits the attitude and scheme for our defense.

Te'o is a 43 MLB or a 34 ILB. We have Tulloch for the next 5 years.

I haven't really looked too deep yet and a lot of things will change but I love the Bama offensive lineman. Barrett Jones being my favorite mostly because he can play all 5 positions along the line.

thats what we said about levy but we can all agree that he looks best on the inside, unless he turns it around this year and makes up for last season. i like the guy a lot but last year he just got caught out of position a lot
