Marketing department please. That would be perfect really...

And to be fair his #'s in the minor leagues were pretty decent. NO power but a career

Can you imagine in one of the Rangers loosing seasons if they, for example, raffled off an AB just for a few bucks? It'd be the laughing stock of the league. While this isn't a "raffled off" AB, it's also the equivalent of a worthless AB and just giving one away for the story/money.
What if he happened to have a go-ahead hit in the game?

It's not like he isn't playing baseball anymore.

If we're going down this road, I'd rather give Prior one inning to pitch than this dude one at bat.

The fact is, there are thousands of minor and major league players who have their careers cut short because of injury. Ya, it sucks that it happened to him but he isn't special.

The Marlins have signed Greenberg to a one-day MLB contract, meaning he will finally get his second at-bat.

Looks like he will suit up on October 2nd....he is donating his salary to the Sports Legacy Institute via the Marlins Foundation, which makes this even more of a feel-good story!

screw that. This will screw other organizations and make them look bad afterwards when they say no.

    Kind of neat.

Unfortunate what happened to him, but if he is dedicated to the game as much as it appears, he should earn his way back to The Show.

awesome story, there is no negative to this. Dont really care why the Marlins did it, they stepped up and it is an awesome story. Hope he gets a hit. I have not watched a Marlins game all year but will certainly tune in to this one!

The Marlins are desperate for any kind of good publicity.

    This is kind of embarrassing.

Is he going to get his at bat against Dickey? That would be interesting.
