Maddux got a bum rap because he opened his career with some trouble in the playoffs... He gave up 25 runs in the 34 innings that make up his first 3 playoff series (6.61 era) including a dreadful 1st attempt in 89 where he gave up 11 runs in 7 and a 1/3rd for the cubs against fracking will clark (Still hate that *** monkey)..
But Maddux only gave up 47 ER for the rest of his career, 164 innings (2.58 era).
