    Mottau signed, Parade route planned

The Maple Leafs also signed defenceman Mike Mottau, who has spent time with the San Antonio Rampage of the AHL this season, registering seven assists in 16 games.

Mottau agreed to a one-year, two-way deal that will see him earn $850,000 at the NHL level and $300,000 at the AHL level.

Last year the 34-year-old was with the New York Islanders and New Jersey Devils, recording two assists in 35 games.

    Not a bad gamble.

Motteau was a well above average defensive player in New Jersey.

He got destroyed by long Island and while that might be decline or just sucking and is worth a look. Perfect 2 way deal guy imo especially to bridge the gap untill Gardiner returns

I like it. Don't need him IMO but worst case he adds to the blueline for the Marlies.
