    Some SEC Facts

    - Florida is 20-6 in their last 26 meetings against Tennessee. They have won the last 7 meetings and haven't trailed Tennessee since their last series loss in 2004.

    - In the last 75 years only twice has Vanderbilt beat a ranked opponent at home. They have their 4 toughest SEC games (South Carolina, Georgia, Tennessee and Auburn) at home this year. It is likely that SC, Georgia and Auburn could be ranked for those games.

They also have never went to bowl games in consecutive seasons. That could very easily change this year. They play 4 very winnable non-conference games against Northwestern, Presbyterian, UMass and Wake Forest to go along with very winnable conference games against Kentucky and Ole Miss. That would put them at 6 and still with games against Tennessee and Missouri that they could pull off the slight upset as well.

    - Miss State is documented as the first event to use the song Who Let The Dogs Out.

    - Kentucky was the first SEC school to create a football team and the first SEC school to have a night football game. Also the 1898 Kentucky football team went undefeated at 7-0 and didn't allow a single point. The average weight of that team? 147 pounds....

    - Tennessee has sent more players to the NFL than any other SEC Team. They have sent 27 more than the next closest program (Florida).

    - This year Alabama and Michigan will meet the first game of the year. They are two of the winningest teams in college football history yet this will be their first meeting.

    - In 1954 Bear Bryant left Kentucky to go coach Texas A&M and he left having a 60-23-6 record as the head coach at Kentucky. Here we are 58 years later and he still has the most wins in school history at 60. Where would he rank at the other programs.... That wouldn't even be good enough to be in the top 3 at 8 of the other SEC programs despite the fact that Kentucky was the first SEC football program.

    - Under Gene Chizik Auburn has a 7-9 conference record without Cam Newton.

    - In 1906 South Carolina directors voted to ban football on campus. It was reversed the next year after campus protests.

    - Florida has now on a 22-year bowl appearance streak since 1990. Over that same period Miss State, Vanderbilt, Kentucky and Ole Miss have a combined 26 bowl appearances.
