Which young three would you rather have for the next 5 seasons?

    Wacha/Miller/Martinez of the Cardinals

    Syndergaard/Wheeler/Harvey of the Mets

Each rotation also has additional young, good pitchers to grab (like Montero, Gonzales, Cooney, etc, but these are the three best)

Even as a Cards fan, I possibly lean toward the Mets young rotation, even though it's a little older, because Harvey could be a constant top 5 pitcher in baseball, and Syndergaard has TORP written all over him. Wheeler is at least a MORP

Wacha I think is a TORP, Miller is a MORP, and Martinez is either a TORP or a future closer. So I would probably take the Mets young three, but I also think it's very close.

I'd say in their peaks...you have the following

    Mets
    Harvey - 6-8 WAR
    Syndergaard - 4-6 WAR
    Wheeler - 3-5 WAR

    Cardinals
    Wacha - 4-6 WAR
    Martinez - 4-6 WAR
    Miller - 3-5 WAR

The issue is Martinez is such a wild card. He could literally be Pedro Martinez good, or he could be...well worthless.

I'd say Miller is a little better than Wheeler. Wacha is slightly better than Syndergaard (same values, but Wacha is MLB ready, Noah needs another year) and Harvey is clearly better than Martinez, with potential sitting out there.

Which three would you rather have to build around?

    Close but the Mets.
    Favourite Teams:

Boston Red Sox: 5-8, games this week vs. Chicago White Sox (3), Baltimore (3)
Indianapolis Colts: 11-5, 2013 AFC South Champs, great season guys.
Looking for new NBA team to cheer for
Ottawa Senators: 37-31-14, season over, good effort guys.

Mets, mainly because I think they have a higher ceiling, and Harvey is probably a legit top 5-10 if he comes back at full form. Wacha looks to be really good, but not Harvey good.

Just a question: What qualifies as "young?" All under 25?

Cause Felix is still only 27, and Walker and Paxton could both be really ****ing good
You have no idea how excited I am right now.

Yeah there are other awesome, young trio's. Just offering two that seem similar.

Close but I would say Mets as well.

    Appel/Folty/McCullers (Houston)
    Zimmer/Ventura/Almonte (KC)
    Meyer/Stewart/Berrios (Minnesota)
    Taillon/Cole/Glasnow
Walker/Paxton/Hultzen (I want to see how Hultzen recovers)

Some "big 3" pitching specs I am very intrigued by.

The Mets, but am a homer.

I do think Wheeler will be better than Syndergaard.

Also the other big wild card is Jenrry Mejia, if you saw what he did last year(albeit SSS), he could be a TORP, but health is a big issue with him.

I think Wheeler is better than some people think, he may not be Matt Harvey or Josť Fernandez but I really like his stuff and his demeanor(as much as people hate this word when it comes to professional sports).

Ohh and I think it's a tie right now, until I see more from Syndergaard in AA-AAA(and in the majors soon I hope).

But the Mets' trio has more promise obviously.
