Early in the year everyone figured Bryce Harper would be the runaway winner of the NL ROY, but obviously things have changed. Since the AS break, Harper has been one of the worst hitters in baseball and now there is a lot of discussion about who will win it. Here are some notables, sorted by fangraphs WAR:
-Wade Miley, P, ARI
137 IP, 12-8, 3.02 ERA, 3.21 FIP, 3.81 K/BB, 3.3 fWAR
-Mike Fiers, P, MIL
82 IP, 6-5, 2.63 ERA, 2.22 FIP, 5.06 K/BB, 2.9 fWAR
-Todd Frazier, 3B, CIN
318 PA, .286/.343/.541, 15 HR, 49 RBI, .372 wOBA, 2.3 fWAR
-Zack Cozart, SS, CIN
482 PA, .248/.296/.409, 13 HR, 26 RBI, .307 wOBA, 2.2 fWAR
-Lucas Harrell, P, HOU
146.1 IP, 10-8, 3.81 ERA, 3.73 FIP, 1.87 K/BB, 2.2 fWAR
-Bryce Harper, OF, WAS
418 PA, .245/.321/.396, 10 HR, 32 RBI, .316 wOBA, 1.5 fWAR
So who is leading the race as of now? Or who do you think will end up winning it? Any other people that deserve to be on the list?
I didn't see any other ROY threads on the first few pages, but if this is a repeat then feel free to merge it, Jeffy.
