Rivalries: Pacers VS Knicks

I was just a youngster when these epic playoff series went down. But once I started watching NBA, I got a small taste of Reggie Miller's skills before he retired.

Today, I just so happened to watch the ESPN feature of this heated rivalry.

Seeing the interaction between Spike Lee & Reggie Miller was a hoot and it was inspiring to see how excited the basketball world became while watching these two tough teams claw out superiority from the other's fierce grasp. So many unbelievable shots that went in, and the simplest one did not.

What are your thoughts on the rivalry? Were you around to watch it? Were you in the arena(s)?

Being born and raised in Indy and suffering through horrible Pacer teams in the 80s and then seeing it come full circle starting in 94 with he first series win over Orlando was magical. Those series with the Knicks were so good and tense. I think this was the best rivaltry in the 90s. They played for right to go to the NBA Finals 3 times and met 6 times in the 90s and 2000 season. I have always been a Sixer fan but seeing my hometown team on the big stage against the Knicks and beating them a few times was special.

I'm not really high on the Pacers. I think Granger just makes too many dumb decisions and he can't really back up his talk. At least with the Knicks I know Melo will bring it and Amare is a guy who can dominant (same guy who averaged 37 ppg on Prime Tim Duncan in the WCF).

I don't get the poll at all.

It doesn't fit with the OP at all. Yes I saw the rivalry and there's no player I dislike more than Reggie Miller in the history of the sport. In my heart, I feel like we got the better of them but we faded and they became better (with the exception the miracle run in 99).
