    Who is: Earl Clark

    http://www.draftexpress.com/profile/Earl-Clark-488/

Seems like a tweener forward, shoots too much, very athletic and is very highly regarded defensively. He can stand his own against guys his height and guard quicker players out on the perimeter.

If this were Phil, I'd be curious to see him develop into something but I'm not sure what Brown will do with a guy like this but he's def more interesting than Eyenga.

He's a defensive player, but he does shoot a lot and he has no jumper what so ever.I think he ends up being our backup sf.

Earl Clark is not a small forward, He is a power forward/center. Mainly a defensive guy who has some hop. Had some decent years with Phoenix a few years ago off the bench. Big time shot blocker will probably be our backup center. I believe he went to Louisville for college.

Yeah Clark is nothing but depth at forward. Ebanks will be the backup at SF before him.

Clark is not a center by any means, so he is not a 4/5 'tweener' like Jordan Hill and I do not see him as a potential backup to Howard. I believe that role will still fall onto Pau and Hill ...

From what I have seen, Clark is an 'overly' tall and long SF, who cannot always 'keep up' with the quicker NBA small forwards, so Clark winds up playing much of whatever court time he does get at the 4. I suppose you could say his role is like that of Al Harrington [ another 'piece' in the Howard deal, who is evidently going to Orlando ], although Clark's body type and style of play are much different ...

From limited exposure to him, I would say he reminds me of an Andrei Kirilenko 'type', though not nearly as quick, mobile, and versatile as the younger version of AK47. Clark is similar, though, in that his focus tends to be on defense, with pretty good 'on-ball' skills and, more significantly, a wide-roaming and sneaky 'help' defense, shot-blocking penchant. He gets his share of rebounds, too, but it can not really be called a great strength [ same as Andrei ] and Clark occasionally can score when his shot is dropping, but there is no true offensive consistency there, at least not yet ...

Unlike Kirilenko, Clark's skill level warrants little other than a deep bench role at this point. He is a 'project' at best and may wind up being nothing more than a young, energetic practice player and 'injury insurance' ... or a future trading chit ...
