    2012 Summer Olympics' Tennis.

    The tennis competitions of the 2012 Summer Olympics are scheduled to be staged at the All England Club in Wimbledon, London, from 28 July to 5 August 2012, making it the first grass court tournament since tennis was re-introduced to the Olympics.
    Defending Champions:

    Men's Singles - Rafael Nadal
    Women's Singles - Elena Dementieva
    Men's Doubles - Roger Federer and Stanislas Wawrinka
    Women's Doubles - Serena Williams and Venus Williams

    That's practically the only thing Fed hasn't won for singles competition. It's just icing on the cake at this point.

    lets say if Rafa wins his 2nd or Novak wins his 1st, how much does it help their legacy?

    On the other hand, Nadal defending his gold medal IMO will further boost his legacy. Defending a title is tough, a GS title tougher but an Olympic title IMO is toughest.

    Rafa helps a little bit. Novak helps a good amount.

    I am not that upset rafa withdrew because in the long run its better. only minus is unlike previous years the olympic winner gets 750 points so that could be big at the end of the year.

    He has already won two underserved grandslams in the last few years enough is enough.
