Cespedes.
Cespedes.
Middlebrooks is due for some regression for a lot of reasons.
High K rate, low BB rate, has to sustain a very high level of power and babip to be of any value.
He is very very likely to regress
I can buy Cespedes' power a little more easily than I can Middlebrooks (as being sustainable) and I feel like Cespedes is more likely to be a better outfielder than Middlebrooks will be a third basemen over the years (and Middlebrooks might end up in left field before it's all said and done).
I'm not that high on Middlebrooks.
Cespedes, aint even close
Cespedes. Middlebrooks is a tad overrated in my opinion.
Cespedes for this season and career(yes even though he's much older). Middlebrooks is great but he's a hacker and I'll always take a guy with better plate discipline

Cespedes was probably a hacker- or got the rep as such- because he was playing against extremely weak competition.
He looks like a much better choice going forward, although his value is gonna be tied entirely to his bat as his fielding is suspect and his baserunning is only decent.
Cespedes. He is arguably the most athletic player in the league and he is extremely impressive at the plate.
