    Rangers Promote Mike Olt

    Rangers purchased the contract of 3B Mike Olt from Double-A Frisco.
    It's a shocking but intriguing move. Olt, 23, is generally regarded as one of the top offensive prospects in baseball, but he's never played above the Double-A level. He was batting .287/.399/.575 with 27 home runs and 81 RBI through 94 games this season at Frisco.

    I am surprised they are calling him, but he is exciting.

    i highly doubt he's being called up to sit on the bench, he's gonna be playing every day, my guess immediate fantasy value

    Good move. It's really the only thing that made sense for him since he was a little older in AA, not sure if AAA would make sense for him.

    Should split time with Moreland at 1st against lefties, spell Beltre some rest down the stretch at 3B.

    wow i see my boi got his callup finally dude is a great hitter should spell beltre and moreland days off guy also can play a really good outfield which hes done for a good part of his life.

    I am really excited to see what he can provide for this team....while he wont add speed, I think he could come through in situations when we need to move a runner over or score a run and we really need that. Plus I think it is great timing after the game we just had.
