David Wilson "In Position to be" Giants Starting RB

David Wilson has been named the Giants "starting running back" according to Giants.com and says he's "taking over for Ahmad Bradshaw." This might not seem particularly groundbreaking, but there is a pocket of belief out there that Andre Brown could be the Giants' starter. Not happening. Giants.com does concede Wilson will "share time" with Brown, but the extent to which will be determined by Wilson's progress. "Hes definitely in position to be the guy," said RBs coach Jerald Ingram. "But I think just like what weve done in the past here, were going to be a rotation-type team and what certain backs do best, well play. I think hes a playmaker."

If he holds up and so do our wrs and oline ... I like his chances as a fantasy RB = to Bradshaw ..when bj was here and AB ..they use to go late and if u followed our team you knew who to take (AB became the TD and mostly everything back bj was just to pummel the opponents eventually) ..

He should get overall double digit tds and 1250 rushing yards maybe 500 receiving bc idk what game plan we will run for him as catching (and we kinda suck at RBs catching the ball unless its those 5 yard curls basically)

As for DW being our starter I'm not shocked , I doubt anyone really is .. Abrown is a solid back up not the starter and well see like we did with bradshaw and most our running backs if he's worth the #1 RB slot ..I think so.

Good for him. I'm sure Brown still gets a ton of carries, but it'd be nice to see what Wilson can do if he gets over 15 carries per game, considering every 3-5 carries he's good for a 60 yard run.

Awesome. He's improved a lot in protection according to the rbs coach... He's a home run threat every time he carries the ball.

this title is misleading. the very same article reads, “I think he’s in a position to compete to be the guy,” running backs coach Jerald Ingram said. “He has the talent, has the speed, has a few plays from a year ago underneath his belt.”

no one has 'been named a starter'.

In the article at top it says on giants.com he was named the starter and that's what the title of the article said. Which is why I posted it like that. Apologies.

It's a pretty dead off-season. There were a lot of debates about who would be starter. Wilson or Brown. So yeah it is news. If you don't like a thread. Don't post in it. Simple.

Sassy. It's common sense the 1st rd pick will be the starter and Brown the short yardage/Goal line back. Not thread worth at all. I'm gonna make one "Eli named starter over Carr & Nassib"
