Video game sales down nearly 30%

The article is pretty funny when they are asking the question why video game sales have dropped and then you read the comments after and everybody is saying the exact same thing. It's obvious.... People are sick of paying $60-70 for the same recycled ****

That's why I almost never pay a full $60 for a game. It pays to either wait a few weeks/months or find preorder deals. I also buy a lot of handheld games because you get more bang for your buck. And Steam Sales are a godsend.

I do this too. The only games I've payed full price for in the last year are Skyrim and Uncharted 3. The only game coming out this year that I will probably get at full price is Playstation All-Stars Battle Royale. I might get Far Cry 3 and Dishonored, but it depends on early reviews. I will probably wait till I can get them on sale.

    Paying $60 can be expensive.

The only full game I've bought over the past year has been Battlefield 3 and Uncharted 3. Outside of that I've waited for Steam sales.

I have said before for games like Madden and NCAA Football is that we the consumers are to blame for the crappy games that EA Sports continue putting out. EA Sports knows that they can just add a small feature or two to the game every year, keep the same crappy gameplay, and people are going to still go to Gamestop, Wal Mart, Target, etc in bundles and put their $59.99 on the table for them. If people quit buying Madden and sales plummeted, EA Sports might take the hint!

Skyrim was the last game I bought at full price. Before that I believe it was Black Ops and 2k10.

I just wait for games to get cheaper. For the price of 1 new game I can get 3-4 good games much cheaper.

And it's not like prices stay up forever unless it's CoD

Steam's a program that would allow you to purchase and download games via the Internet. In addition, you can play these games on your computer.

As others have said, they're just way too expensive. The only games I buy full price are the NBA2k and COD games.

Don't you have to pay for the All-Star content in NBA 2K13? For that reason, I'll pass.
