    Playoff Discussion Thread

Instead of having 8 different threads about who is going to win the AL Wildcard, or who is going to win the AL Central.

Let's just have one playoff predictor thread.

Post who you think is heading to the playoffs in here.

Here is Baseball Prospectus' playoff odds link if anyone would like to look at the odds as of the current day

To those that do not know mathematics it is difficult to get across a feeling as to the beauty, the deepest beauty of baseball. If you want to learn about baseball, to appreciate baseball, it is necessary to understand the language she speaks.

I agree with most of it. I don't think the Blue Jays will finish ahead of the Orioles, but that's pretty much my only complaint.
There is a pleasure in the pathless woods,
There is a rapture on the lonely shore,
There is society, where none intrudes,
By the deep sea, and music in its roar:
I love not man the less, but Nature more.

    well...
if you look at their projected record vs where the A's are right now, there is a huge discrepancy

    I'm going to go with:

    NL Central: Cubs
    NL East: Cubs
    NL West: Cubs
    WC: Cubs, Cubs
    Stoops....there it is!
    Fix it. Fix it good.

Surprised to see the Jays on pace for only 78 wins and finish in 4th. I would go around 85-87 wins

What makes the Orioles better, their meh pitching or their bad hitting? Eh, must be their awesome run differential.

I can def see them winning 85-87 games, especially if they can get healthy

If the final standings actually ended with their 'sim' records.

the Pirates would be so pissed off....89 wins and don't make the playoffs because the Cards and Braves both win 90 and take the two WC spots because the Nationals and Reds both won more than 90

The rate they are going, combined with WHO they have to play in the next 2 months, 78/79 wins seems to make sense.
