    Cardinals (50-43) at Brewers (52-41) July 11-13

St. Louis Cardinals @ Milwaukee Brewers

Friday, July 11, 7:10 PM CDT , Miller Park

    Joe Kelly, RHP

Kelly last pitched in the Majors on April 16, when he strained his left hamstring in Milwaukee. He'll return to the Majors after three rehab starts at Triple-A. In his last outing there on July 6, he allowed one run in 4 1/3 innings on 72 pitches.
    Yovani Gallardo, RHP

After a rough start against Colorado on June 29, Gallardo bounced back with a stellar seven-inning, two-run outing in Cincinnati, in a tough-luck loss. Gallardo has quality starts in five of his last six outings.
Saturday, July 12, 3:10 PM CDT , Miller Park

    Adam Wainwright, RHP

Despite allowing a baserunner in every inning Monday, Wainwright tossed seven scoreless innings, the ninth such outing this season in which he has gone at least seven without allowing a run. He has quality starts in 15 of 18 outings this season.
    Jimmy Nelson, RHP

The Brewers' top prospect was recalled Thursday, and he makes his second start of the season. He pitched 5 2/3 scoreless innings and gave up five hits and three walks to earn his first career big league victory on May 25.
Sunday, July 13, 1:10 PM CDT , Miller Park

    Carlos Martinez, RHP

Martinez, in his fifth start since joining the rotation on June 16, tossed a season-high six innings on Tuesday. He allowed four runs on eight hits, two of which were two-run homers. He has thrown 85 and 88 pitches his last two starts.
    Wily Peralta, RHP

Peralta had his worst start of the season Tuesday against the Phillies, lasting only 4 1/3 innings and allowing nine earned runs on eight hits. Part of it was bad luck: The Phillies had four infield hits off the righty.

Sweet comeback by the Cards. And hr's do not make a difference?? Chicks dig the long ball. I'd love to see their record when they hit a hr. I bet its a lot better vs. when they do not.

Yes home runs are good but you can't rely on home runs to win games it's that simple the braves hit the most bombs last season what happened the last month and the postseason they stopped hitting home runs and couldn't score because they depended on the long ball to much

The only reason i was holding out for watching that game after that start was the promise of Bob Uecker. I always love listening to that guy. Seeing those old clips was really special, I am definitely going to watch that special of his this thursday on mlb tv.

Was a good game outside of the terrible start for Kelly. His arm looked fine, but definitely had rust all over it.

Maybe we should start hitting both HRs AND driving in runs on singles and doubles as well!

Did that announcer just say that Yadi landing on the DL was poetic justice because Lucroy is having a better year?

I thought I heard that Matheny chooses the replacement for Yadi and it doesn't have to be a catcher.

Lucroy was already on the roster, wasn't he?

I think he was saying that Lucroy deserved to start in the game more (and assuming that he is starting in Yadi's place).

    Apparently he did.
