    Flyers resign Jakub Voracek

The Philadelphia Flyers have locked up one of their own restricted free agents, signing forward Jakub Voracek to a four-year, $17 million contract.

The deal was first reported by Comcast SportsNet Philadelphia.

Voracek, 22, scored 18 goals and 49 points in 78 games with the Flyers last season.

Voracek was drafted by the Columbus Blue Jackets in the 1st round (seventh overall) in 2007 and was acquired by the Flyers in a trade for Jeff Carter.

Seems like a fair price for Jake.

It's just good to have it done. I don't like the $4.25 per year but whatever. Moving forward.

Eh it's not worth busting his sack over. I don't blame him for making a new thread.

feel the same way, flyers had their hands tied on this deal because of other deals and deals that didn't happen. i thought 3.25-3.5 mill range was going to be the cap hit

Given the other contracts being signed this free agency season, Jake's deal was going to come in between 4 and 4.5m. I like the 4 years. Keeps him around for a while, and shows him the team is committed to him. I can't wait to see what Jake will do on a line with G. Look for a big year from him.

After what NYR got Nash for....Anaheim would be wise to hold on to Ryan....CLB got a draft pick, two NHL players and a defensive prospect....I don't know if they could hold out for much more then that as a package from another team...
