Thats another reason to trade Lupul. Possibly overachieved last year and we should sell high. Also that late season injury scares me.

Just posted (in the bernier thread) that Howard Berger hears that Burke is working dilligently to get a trade done with Bernier. I wouldn't be suprised if Lupul is also in it. I think he lives there and his pals are there AND a coach that he is rumoured to hate is here. Although the main reason they disliked eachother is because Carlyle never gave Loops a shot at the top-6 wing position, and here he has no choice now.

To Carlyle's credit, when he came here he said that he made a mistake by not playing Lupul on the left side in Anaheim. There's probably still a sour taste in Lupuls mouth over the whole deal though.

Anyways, not every Duck hated Carlyle. One maybe two did... and the only reason Lupul did was for reasons about playing time and whatnot and they had said they sorted that stuff out.

Either way I have been saying deal Lupul from the start. Sell high why he's had a good year.

Bouwmeester can rot in Calgary. Overpaid, I'd rather keep Phaneuf, he has more to offer. At least with Phaneuf we have a guy that can put up 40+ a season and play physical. Bouwmeester disappears when the game gets rough.

Yeah I don't really know what happened to Jay Bo. World class skater.. bomb of a shot. But nothing seems to be coming together for em the last little while. I'd take him if he wasn't paid what he's paid. I mean you need considerably more production outta that guy if you want your money's worth.

He and Phanuef would be the most talented duo thats been here in a while. True he is overpaid now but does that really matter if we don't plan on using that cap?

When their deals are done both of them will get lower deals, i'm thinking 5.5M to 6M longterm, and i would love that duo on our team.

BTW he has 2 years left. Same as Phanuef.

If we got Bouwmeester, at the end of 2013-2014, we could have Kessel, Phanuef, and Bouwmeester locked up longterm for less than what they are now. Now they are a combined $18.7M but i doubt any one of them gets more than $6M on their next deal (MAYBE Kessel but i think he gets less). Even all of them at $6M (which none of them will get) and you still save money (700K).

60-70 pts from Dion and Jay while logging a tonne of minutes is fine and we need that. Not to mention they'll both be entering the "supposed" prime of their careers (age wise).

I wouldn't say Pavelski or Clowe couldn't happen but i can't really see them trading both to us without Kessel or Gardiner. just me though
