I will be genuinely surprised if Jones does NOT make the roster. I will also be happy.

    Ps- I'd take him .
I would too. Don't let that 6-9 record fool you as he was easily a top 10 SP in the league this season. He had 14 starts in which he gave up 3 runs or less and did not pick up a win. 4th worst run support in MLB.

Now that Gardner will make the postseason roster, the Yankees will have Granderson, Swisher, Ichiro, Gardner and Ibanez on the roster, so there are 4 lefties and a switch hitter. joe might be forced to take Jones.

I get the experience angle, that can be valuable in the playoffs. And in reality I don't see where picking either Dickerson or Jones is the ultimate decider of this team's success in the playoffs.

    This is good news.

Andy Pettitte takes the mound for the Yankees tonight in Game 2 of the ALDS against the Orioles and yesterday the 40-year-old left-hander dropped some pretty strong hints that he plans to return in 2013.

“I know the competition and the desire to compete is still there and I don’t feel like I kind of got that itch out from the 70 innings or so that I threw this year,” Pettitte said, via Mark Hale of the New York Post. “I was expecting to do a little bit more work than that.”

I guess I'm one of the few that actually likes Swisher, I prefer to have a player that actually wants to be a Yankee and be a part of the tradition. I also like what he brings to the clubhouse JMO.

There are a lot of us who like him and what he brings to the clubhouse. I hope his price tag and his desire to stay in NY makes him affordable in the off-season.
