Even with $12.5M, that'd cover Justin Upton and a bench OF.
Seems we might only have around $10M even with the Hanson trade, from info DOB got from the winter meetings today.
Saw that, and it's hard to know. All we can do is calculate from publicly available data; we have no idea how they account for signing bonuses, incentives, etc. I still think $10 million sounds too low. There's some incentive for the team to make fans think they have less than they actually do, so they can feed the fans a "we pushed our budget beyond its limits" line of thinking after the fact and not disappoint people if they end up not getting a big-name player.
It wouldn't surprise me, though, if the final number is closer to $92 million than $95 million, meaning they have more like $12 million available.
