As a PH, one good thing is you can make sure he only hits with men on base. At other times, the sub-.300 OBP will be too costly to offset with the occasional HR.

I love him in the role he is in now. He's something that other teams know is going to come and they fear it.

Yes he has 4 HR as a pinch hitter, but he's also 4-22. He's been much better as a starter.

True, but he offers the Mets speed, and he is clearly the better option over Bay/Torres/Duda.

There is no argument for starting Bay over him. Bay needs to accept a demotion to the minor leagues or be DFA'd.

He'd be one of our best hitters AND best fielders.

I don't get why he doesn't play everyday.

I love what he can do and what he has done and seems to have a lot of potential

But let's not get crazy...I would like to see him get some starts against RH pitchers and the occasional start at 2nd base. But if the team is going to win games and they need to start doing that asap..You have to get Bay and Duda going so you can't just bench them...the team needs bay to produce
    Lets go mets

Platoon Bay and Duda in LF, get rid of Torres, and platoon Hairston and Kirk in RF. Play Valdespin in CF everyday.

Terry doesn't have the brain or balls for that.

I don't see why we can't go with Bay, Torres, Hairston against LHP and Kirk, Valdepsin, Duda vs RHP.

You need Torres RH bat in the lineup against LHP at least in place of Duda or Nieuwenhuis...or keep him for off the bench. No reason to get rid of him atm.
"The 90 wins is about challenge. It's about changing the conversation. It's about framing questions for ourselves as to how we get there. So I stand by the notion that we need to get better, and in doing so we need to set concrete goals for ourselves so that we have sort of specific conversations among ourselves about how we're going to get there." -- Mr. Alderson

Terry is too tempted to play him everyday so I'd like to see him gone.

Valdespin hasn't shown that he cannot hit LHP, and he's young. The man needs to play everyday and I feel CF is a great spot for an athlete like him.

Duda is LF at best so he can platoon with Bay, Kirk and Hairston get RF.

Right, and when Jordanny stops hitting, we'll need Torres. Just like we've needed Torres when Kirk stopped hitting.

You have to be able to see past the end of your V-Spin boner, Stunna.

Yeah. He's a rookie, so its almost inevitable that he's gonna hit a wall. They all do, unless your name is Mike Trout. I agree, we should keep Torres.

Thats why I feel the OF lineup I proposed works out best. Platoons at all positions, but everyone gets the right amount of playing time. Bay, Torres, Hairston against lefties, and Duda, Valdepsin, Kirk against righties.

Add a Shoppach to platoon with Thole, and keep Ike, Murphy, Tejada and Wright as the regulars and thats a pretty solid lineup.

Why would he stop hitting? He has a better chance to hit than Torres that's for sure. Jordany has extremely good bat speed whereas Kirk doesn't have the quickest bat. Torres is old and garbage, so who's to say he'll keep hitting?

At some point he's not going to hit so well from the right side too.
