I've definitely been under-rating his power. It is about time maybe to start giving him starts ahead of both Duda and Bay. I think he's actually had more focus coming off the bench as a pinch hitter, but the talent is clearly there for him to contribute as a starter.

At this point, I see no reason to play Duda or Bay over Valdespin on a regular basis.

He's hit sliders and change-ups too, he just needs to be more discipline. But the hitting ability is there.

Also it's not like Valdespin is an unknown at this point, he's made adjustments. I feel like pitching coaches are always coming out when he comes to bat, they personally give the scouting report.

If it's not broke, don't try to fix it.
Playing everyday has exposed a lot of young guys who have holes in their swing.
It's the reason why you always see good players have sophomore slumps.
Valdespin deserves to start, but not everyday. Not yet anyway.
He's excelling in the role he is in now. Leave him be, he's a perfect PH.
