    Lets be real here

There are many threads out on PSD about NFL standings at the end of the year and which teams are better and so on. It seems to me that a a couple teams are way to hyped while others never get any credit. ex.

The Detroit Lions had a great season last year. But to say they will finish second in the NFC North.. Crazy because injuries to the Chicago Bears gave way for them to take it.

The 49ers had one of the best defenses last year along with beast mode frank gore. Now, It seems to me that people dont realize that the Starting QB is ALEX SMITH! His numbers last season was a fluke. He has never ever had a good season and to say that they are superbowl contenders is a little much.

What is this fascination with the chiefs? I saw many people suggest the Chiefs get to the superbowl. They are not good with Matt Cassel ay Qb.

Now the Chicago Bears had an injury filled season going 8-8 last year. Since they add Brandon Marshall, Michael Bush, Campbell, and they draft 2 first round talents in Shea Mcclellin and Alshon Jeffrey. They absolutely destroyed the Lions, they took down the Eagles, Chargers, Falcons.. on there way to a 5 game win streak. They added key pieces to an already superbowl contending team. I dont get how they are written off by everyone.. Especially lion homers here on psd.

Da Bears...a Chicago fan I see...My Raiders will be middle of the pack, and I say the Chargers are always hyped up and overrated. Superbowl contenders every season, my arse!

I'm tired of these threads. I hate this hype the Bears are being given right now. Let them play 16 games of football and then we can talk, we (The Bears), do have a good chance, but so do the Packers and Lions.

If we want to talk about the NFC North or even the NFC, then we could compare the different teams, but to surround the Bears around all of this hype, even to me, is getting old. Plus it's a good way to start baiting other fans (Det and GB) which isn't right as well...
    No ideas for the moment.

Didn't Alex Smith have a good year last season?? Also didn't the 49ers make it to the NFC championship game as well?? Those two reasons alone make them Super Bowl contenders.

LOL the lions and bears played two games last year, How come i only hear about the one?

We win the MNF (bigger stage) game(at home) bears win the 2nd (at home) sounds like a split..

Bears were the only team in the NFL that had injuries last year
    Calvin Johnson - 122 rec - 1964 Yards - 5 TD

Crazy? You have Stafford to Megatron, and one of the top d-lines. They had some pretty incredible come backs last year. Who's to say that Chicago stays healthy this year?

It's a fluke because you said so? Every good quaterback breaks out at one point or another, the majority of them don't start off like Cam did. Last year was his first year with Roman at OC, and every single other year he has played he had another OC.

Not sure where you saw many people suggesting them going to the SB, but they have a very solid team aside from Cassel.

You just sound like a Chicago homer, nobody thinks they are trash, nobody thinks they are favorites either.. because they aren't.

No, the reason is that there is all this talk about the lions and 49ers. I refuse to accept the 49ners are legit superbowl contenders because Alex smith is their QB plain and simple. He could have 5 td's and 30 int's... he is that bad. Baiting? im merely presenting a point. All this hype over these teams. While the Chicago Bears are being disregarded because they lost to the lions once which was 24 - 13.. and someone said i forgot to mention that game.haha, what about the game that the lions lost 37-13?? Also, the fact that the GREAT matthew stafford threw 4 picks... the lions are a fluke, nothing better than a 9-7 team.

I'm sick of the bait threads in the NFL forum lately. Keep that **** in the NBA forum aka the hell hole of this site.
