The Predators aren't in any kind of cap situation.

The ridiculous amount of 1st round picks (I believe 4) that would be given up for Weber.

I do think there is a possibility that Weber is traded though and if that happens, he might dictate where he goes a little based on where he would sign long term. No team out there is going to put up a ridiculous offer to the Preds for Weber without some sort of confirmation that he would like to play with that team long term.
Okay, so thats not happening. Heres to hoping he signs a 1 year deal and is available next year!

Exactly, I basically see three options with Weber.

    1. He signs a 1 year contract with the Preds. I would be very surprised to see a multi-year deal

    2. Weber gets traded

    3. Weber signs a HUGE 1 year offer-sheet. I'm talking about $10mil+...hoping that the Preds refuse to match, and if they do it will only be one year until free agency.

This is the first move of the offseason I'm happy with.

Hopefully he can help rectify the special teams problems.

Scouting report on Jamie Kompon from someone who would know: "utterly incompetent in handling power play."

Hawks can only offer sheet a player for $8.4million or more. Anything less would require a 2nd and 3rd in the compensation, and we traded those picks to Winnipeg for Oduya.

Kings went through major scoring droughts and damn near missed the playoffs with this guy running the powerplay. Between he and Kitchen, the Hawks might have the most worthless pair of assistant coaches in the league.

Anyone else have a feeling that the impending CBA is the hang up on so many of these UFAs and trades? Been so damn slow.

What's to like? He's another Q lackey. He and Kitchen are going to have the special teams ****ed beyond recognition.

While I really don't have an opinion on this hire (Seeing as I don't care much about the assistant coach to be honest) I think it is important to look back at Haviland vs Kitchen.

I think people like Haviland and hate Kitchen because of personality. Kitchen is just a creepy looking guy while Haviland had charisma.

At the end of the day, the PK and PP (assistant coaches supposedly) both absolutely sucked last year.

Hoping for some improvements this year.
