ill take them both
Ill take Von, but both are/will be great players

Von for now, but another year should define them
Not Aldon's fault the 49ers are loaded at linebacker and could afford to platoon Parys Haryslon and Smith at ROLB. People seem to think he is incapable of playing the run. We don't know that because he hasn't been asked to do it yet.
They are making him the full time starting OLB this season. We'll find out who's better after this year.

I thought the poll was who has a stupider first name.
You're talking to me all wrong... It's the wrong tone. You do it again and I'll stab you in the face with a soldering iron. Hey, tell me, does your mother sew? BOOM. Get her to sew that!
Have you seen his bull rush? He is a wizard.

Now that Aldon Smith has played a few games as a full time player, thought it would be time to bump this thread.
Against the Lions, Aldon had 7 tackles, 2 sacks (one is pending review by Elias Sports Bureau), tackle for loss and a QB hit. Greg Cosell was on KNBR, a SF radio station, and said he was very impressed with Aldon's run defense and said he set the edge very well.
So for those who say Aldon can only rush the passer...not true (so far)

2 games isn't a big enough sample size to really change any ranking. I've always said that I think Aldon will ultimately be the better player. I even said leading up the draft in 2011 that I'd have drafted him over any other player for the Pats. But Miller outperformed him in their rookie seasons.
