    The Dark Tower

Trailer released today. Haven't read the books, but have heard good things. Looks worth checking out. Trailer here : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4C0A2GpMNP8

Thoughts? To anyone who has read the books, is it worth reading before the movie comes out?

The books are worth reading for sure, I loved them, so am hyped for the movies, though it seems they will change a lot from the source material.

I've read the first book and part of the second. First book was good, but I'm not a big fan of Stephen King's writing style so it was a chore to get through it.

It'll be interesting to see how they adapt this to screen because it's pretty weird and pretty slow at times, and aren't they going to some TV as well?

Definitely gonna check it out, I've always wanted to **** with the first book but never got around to it. The movie will probably motivate me to.

The first book was rough to read and I blame that on King trying to be too cute in his narrative or writing style and it may have spilled over to book two.

After that I found the rest of the books to be easy to read.

Nothing is worst than trying to read Cormack McCarthy though, on a side note.

Is this going to be one movie? That doesn't seem plausible?

No, they have others planned, but obviously will wait to see how the first one does before officially.

If you want the ultimate, you've got to be willing to pay the ultimate price. It's not tragic to die doing what you love.

I'll watch it, but I read some reviews and as a fan of the books, I know I will be disappointed.

The more I've seen the trailers for this the ******** it's looked. Not too surprised by the bad reviews.

The production for this was apparently a total mess and it's more of a sequel to the books than an adaptation, which is stupid if they had any hopes of this being a Franchise.
