    Greg Stiemsma (Signs with Cavaliers)

    Greg,

We here in Indiana took notice of your fantastic year in Boston. You performed very well in Boston serving as the backup Center. I am here to offer you a chance to be a vital role player on a championship team. You would serve as the backup center to Roy Hibbert, and be playing with guys such as former finals MVP and 2x NBA Champ Dwyane Wade, Danny Granger, Stephen Curry, Josh Smith, Brandon Bass, and Hedo Turkoglu. You would be a great addition to this squad because of your hustle, defense, and rebounding.

We hope to see you in a Pacers uni next year! Without further ado, we offer you a 4 year $10,459,067 deal with a player option in the 3rd year, using our Tax-Payer's Exception. The breakdown would be as follows:

    Year 1: $2,500,000
    Year 2: $2,575,000
    Year 3: $2,652,250 (PO)
    Year 4: $2,731,817

    Mr Stiesma,

The Celtics still hold your bird rights and have planned to bring you back. We just have a couple of million to spend before we hit the hard cap, and then are prepared to come back and use our bird rights to bring you back.

We hope you can wait because the Celtics still plan on brining you back where you would get a good amount of minutes backing up Marcin Gortat.

    Thanks
    Boston GMs

    Mr. Stiemsma,

We just wanted to let you know that we really value all you bring to a team both on-court and in the locker-room. Your energy, hustle, defense, and selflessness are qualities and traits that we absolutely value on this team. We want you to know that we are promising you 14-18 MPG as our back-up center and being a part of one of the best defensive frontcourt rotations in the entire league.

Not to mention, we have built one of the best teams in the entire league and a team with true championship aspirations. Mr. Stiemsma, come be a part of something special that is being built here in Indiana.

We know you are a winner and there is no place better than Indiana to both be a vital part to a rotation while having an opportunity to win a ring.

Mr. Stiemsma, we can't compete with the money the Bobcats are offering you.

We wish you success there as their starting center.

    We respectfully rescind.

Greg isn't interested in playing for a bottom dweller. He got a taste of the playoffs last year with Boston and he wants more of it.

Additionally, he wants a multi year commitment. He's played overseas and in the d league. He knows how important financial security is.

So I guess he would reject a one year 13 million contract to start for us?

    Greg,

The Knicks are rather pleased to approach you with a contract offer. We saw that you were looking for a team that will be able to make a deep run in the playoffs and we believe the Knicks fit that mold to a T. This off-season we have made it our goal and mission to rebuild our squad on the defensive end first and we fill you would be a great part of that rebuild. We absolutely love how you would fit behind Tyson Chandler and think that we would hardly miss a beat with him resting and you anchoring the middle for us. This in mind, we are prepared to offer our Mini-MLE to you to come to NYK:

    Year 1: $2,500,000
    Year 2: $2,575,000
    Year 3: $2,652,250 (PO)
    Year 4: $2,731,817 (PO)

We feel this contract gives you great control over your future as well as gives you a role off the bench of a contender. The Knicks are building something special here Greg. Gone are the days of selfish players who are in the game for themselves and not the team. We made it our goal to create an incredibly deep and talented basketball team that plays team basketball first. That sells out on defense for every possession first. That values winning above all else. We hope this contract dictates to you how important we think you can be to our future plans and hope that we more than satisfy your desire to be apart of a playoff team that will make deep runs for the next 4+ years.

We hope to hear from you soon,

    Sincerely,

    NYK Management

Greg has informed me that he would like to play for the Cavaliers.

He thinks he can help push them into the playoffs and contribute to their depth.
