Remember the finals were good but that's not the whole season. the lockout helped tick ratings up for ONE YEAR. People wanted to see basketball so the ratings ticked up. Basketball is slipping further behind the NFL and MLB. Look at the ratings outside New York, Miami, and L.A. But the ratings have declined every year AS A WHOLE except the post-lockout. It's true go look at the ratings over the pas 10 years.
This may be true, but the NBA is growing in popularity world-wide. I should know, I just came back from Australia, China, and the UK; people are crazy about NBA basketball. I went to a sports store in London and they are still selling Jordan jerseys beside star soccer player jerseys.
