backup center is much more of a priority, and Hill is an offensive rebounding machine that can play both frontcourt positions and match energy players, while getting up the floor. He can't stretch defenses like Dante, but does anyone agree with me that Dante starting at the 4 and being that stretch-4 is actually taking away from what his value is, which is crashing the glass and cutting into open lanes?

exactly, which is why I don't participate a ton in these threads compared to others.

Granger from Indy for Williams, Ridnour, and Roy's likely retirement expiring contract.

Paul George and Lance Stephenson are clearly Indy's future. David West is a free agent after this year, DJ Augustine is too (and he's terrible) and the Pacers are $8M over the cap right now. Williams gives them a future 4 (forwards are smaller out East) and a quality backup PG with more cap room to extend PG24 soon.

We'd get an "all star caliber" wing who can shoot it pretty well and contribute to the "win-now" mentality of the team while fitting into the "reset button" option of 2014-15.

I know a lot of you hate looking back at failed trades/trade offers, but remember Paul George for Jonny Flynn.

I am starting to think that this thread should be about "actual rumors." It's fun to think about what possible trades we would like to see. But there are millions that could be discussed and get us no where.

I put that in the "machine" and thought that might be good also. Only thing is I am not sure he can play the 2 and going forward AK can play the 4 this year but when Love gets back? Rubio, Granger, AK, Love, Pek. Sounds good but not sure Granger is going to be able to play the 2. Can he play that spot?

Steve, look at this way: Granger playing out of position at the 2, or Ridnour/Barea playing out of position at the 2. Sure he may not be the ideal 2 guard but in comparison to anybody else we throw on the floor, he is a huge upgrade.

Okay Toronto wants Gay (some of us to) and is looking for a 3rd team to jump in to make it work. Think this might work, give up some vets but get young cheap players with upside as well as space at the end of the year to sign Pek.

    Nutshell.

Wolves recieve Calderon, Ross and Wroten-- Nice pieces moving forward

Raptors receive Gay and Luke--- now have a star and replacement backup PG

Grizz recieve Fields, Roy and JJ. --- Cap relief with replacement SF and backup pg.

Are there any actual rumors? Face it, not much is going on - hence the trade scenarios.

I wondered the same thing but figured it would be worth a try with worst case being that Granger plays 6th man. Adelman's offense is supposed to be wing-neutral i.e. both 2s and 3s are interchangeable and defensively Granger should be able to at least win matchups against the majority of 2s in the league because of the lack of quality there.

I like it for us, but Memphis could get better than that.

I think they'd be expecting at least one solid piece (better than fields and jj, assuming you're including roy as cap relief), and maybe also an expiring.

Also, I highly doubt Torronto lets go of Ross, and if they did, he'd be going to the Griz.

Best trade idea I've seen in a while though, one team always seems to get rolled un multi-team trades.

I thought the same thing when I saw your proposal. My second thought though was who was going to be starting Granger or AK. Anyway it ain't bad but would Indiana go for it?
Another thing with trade scenarios is at what state the team is at. For example the Hill trade is probably throwing in the towel for the season. The Granger is we are still fighting for it. I think the team wants first to see where we at now that (hopefully) Adelman, Pek and Shved are back and with the additions of Gelable and CJ.

Didn't Memphis just trade Ellington plus a few players for Leuer just to get cap space? What on earth are they planning to do?
