Is Kevin Love a Franchise Player?

There has been a lot of debate about Kevin Love how good he is what he can be. Others feel that he isn't as important. I just wanted to get your guys thoughts on if Kevin Love can be that number one guy that gets us back on the map. I'm not sure if he is myself but he is definitely very good.

Didn't like his attitude and grumbling but......

Top ten player in the league when healthy. Top rebounder, great passer, very good scorer. Defense is a bit weaker than desired but was getting a bit better before the injury.

To me a franchise player has to win 1st.Not just love but I personally would not call anyone a franchise player until they WIN.Maybe I'm just the russian judge but thats my standard for any player.

Lets take K.Irvin for example. I feel he is a potential franchise player but I cant say he's an actual FP until he WINS.If 3 years from now Irvin hasn't made the playoffs yet I don't think anyone will be calling him a franchise player.

That's just not true. You can not win with a single franchise player anymore, so what's the point of this argument? I mean it is possible, but you need to have another 2-3 allstars along side him.

    PSD Grammar Lesson #1:

    a) their - stands for "belonging to them"
    b) there - means "over there" as in location
    c) they're - short for "they are"

Thats totally fair imo ,every year 3 or 4 teams get to the playoffs with out a franchise player(see hawks, bulls, memphis and even jazz had winning record).I,m not asking for much just a winning record not a championship.I'm pretty sure we had the worst record in the league after loves 1st 4 years(leaving out this year cuz he really didn't play). We were even worse than the bobcats which is unbelievable. That being said it's hard for me to call a player thats has been on the worst team in the NBA during a FOUR YEAR STRETCH a franchise player! Also as I said b4 I would feel this way about any player not just Love.

Franchise Player = All star game pretty much every year and in the playoffs pretty much every year.

I voted no... But that doesn't really mean anything. The term "franchise player" is so ambiguous and difficult to define that outside of the usual suspects (Lebron, KD, etc.), it's debatable and ultimately up to the interpreter.

I hate these kinds of terms. I feel like we are back to the "MVP" debate i.e. is it "best player in the league" (Lebron every year) or biggest difference with and without a teams best player (Durant? Melo?)

Franchise player used to mean simply that a guy was the face of the franchise and the undisputed best player on the team as well as a long-term fixture i.e. idk that you can be the "face of the franchise" if you're only with a team for 2 or 3 years. I don't care to apply these ambiguous terms to Love. All we really know is that 2011-12 was his best season so far in a young career and that if he can maintain that, he is a top 10 player in the league.
